“Nice place to stay”

We booked this accommodation on reviews from Tripadvisor. The welcome was friendly and nice. Were given fresh Orange Juice on arrival and told about the property, given directions to good local restaurants and told how to get into city centre on bus etc, to far to walk.
Twin room was nice, good linen and everything one could want in a room, flat screen tv,internet, power shower etc. Nice tea/coffee making facilities and biscuits and chocolates.
The room and welcome was perfect.
However were were both dissapointed by the breakfast, not in quality of produce or how it was cooked. But as it has won a few breakfast awards we expected something amazing. Well it tasted fine and cooked well. But it was just eggs and bacon and a bit of mushroom and tomato The same fair really we had at every other property on our journey that week who had won no awards for breakfast. It was not in anyway special for us.
Come to Burlington for nice rooms and welcome, but dont come just because they have won breakfast awards.

Burlington House is a very good B&B in North Oxford (Sommertown).
A wonderful host puts you at ease.
The room we had was comfortable and spacious enough.
The breakfast is wonderful!
The bus ride into central Oxford is 10 minutes.
WQe will stay here again!

“Perfect stay in a perfect city.”

We stayed here in October last year and had a brilliant time. Our room was beautiful and spotlessly clean. It was very hot at night despite the time of year but the ceiling fan sorted that out. Nes was very helpful and efficient without imposing. Breakfast was very good, although I have had better elsewhere. Was expecting more due to previous reviews on Tripadvisor. We also loved the location. There are plenty of buses but we really enjoyed walking up and down the beautiful tree lined road the hotel is on, looking at the amazing houses on it. Oxford itself is fabulous. We particularly enjoyed the punting and numerous visits to Jamie Oliver's Italian restaurant, as well as beautiful architecture, historical interest, great shops and cream teas. We would definitely recommend this hotel in Oxford.

“Lived up to expectations”

Had a great stay this weekend. The room, one of the doubles, was very high quality and exactly as described online. Great bed! And, breakfast was extensive, expertly and attentively prepared (began with homemade bread and when from there). The owner, Nessa, is just super attentive.

I thought it was a great value, actually, given the high quality and excellent breakfast.

Not too far out of town either, quite convenient with a few restaurants and a pub within short walking distance, and a few minute bus or taxi ride into central oxford.

It's not a negative, but do note it's a small property, so check-in closes early, breakfast starts and ends a bit early (9:30), and check out is at 10am.

Highly recommended!

Room Tip: rooms are well described on their website.
