“Good quality place. Comfortable beds and nice views.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

Good size room and nice views.

There is only one treatment room though so we were unable to book anything. If you want any treatments you need to book early. Bit of a push to say one treatment room makes this place a spa!

Food was good and good value. Although I don’t think service is as good as it should be for a 4* hotel like this. One morning we had to wait ages for tea and I asked specifically for it to be weak with only one tea bag. This request was ignored and we had to wait ages for the replacement. Not a difficult request really!

Also, what seems really odd and I would love to know the reason for this, people came to the restaurant and were told that if they hadn’t booked there wasn’t room. We couldn’t understand this as at no point was the room more than half full and they clearly had enough staff. So book the restaurant if you want to go even though they will not be full.

Telly was in odd place! If sat one beds telly was at side and very close to one bed (we had twin room) should have been on the other wall.

Quite close to go shopping, although don’t make the mistake we did and drive in!! Parking a ridiculous price!

“They seems to get it all right”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

I can't really put my finger on it but I like everything about this hotel. Courteous staff who seem genuinely interested in you as a guest. Nice ( if overly modern) bar area and bar food find. A nice big room well equipped and clean. A lovely walking route to Oxford along the river and a nice " local" pub right opposite. You can't beat this for value for money so close to the city

“New Year Break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

An excellent new year break with family party of 6, nothing was too much trouble. This is our third year we have taken the new year package and we will be returning next year. The rooms are comfortable and well equiped. The staff are very good, friendly without being over the top - nice touches like they always hold a door open if you are following them.
The food as always was excellent, hot, well presented and the right quantity. The entertainment over the thre nights we were there was just right - not too loud and a good mixture pitched at the age of the guests.
There is ample fee parking on site and Oxford centre is only 15 mins walk away and there is a good bus service outside the hotel.

“Value for Money”

My wife and I have used this hotel for several years now when visiting Oxford. It is approx. 1 mile from Oxford center and you can leave the car and walk in or use the frequent bus service right at the entrance.

Food is always good and I do like their breakfasts. Even when bust the cope very well with little delay.

My only gripe is that they don't serve Stella at the bar!
