I stayed there for a night with a group of friends. It is indeed very cheap and quite central (20mins walk to historic city centre). However this B&B really gives bad vibes. It is trying to be a B&B at the price of a hostel, and this doesn't quite work out.
Hostels usually have rooms designed to be easily cleaned, and have constant maintenance. This B&B is basically not maintained. Cleaning is minimal, everything is run down.
Most importantly, it felt really dirty. The whole decor is pretty terrible (think bad taste from UK in the 70's). The office of the manager really smells foul. I really started to wonder whether an incontinent person (maybe his mother) was living there. Given this is the first thing that one sees, it gives a pretty bad first impression.
The state of the manager's computer gives you a glimpse of the general lack of maintenance of the whole establishment.
Toilet door was broken in my room. Not that bad, but you have to be ready for that, depending on whom you are sharing with. I didn't have a shower at this place, but a friend who did said his shower was a trickle.
The bed are really uncomfortable, and I am ready to guess that the mattresses have not been changed in 20 or 30 years easy.
Heating was full blast in the evening, then nothing during the whole night (so I woke up several times shivering). Why did I just not use an extra blanket?
The worst bit is that the blanket on my bed had a lot of (female) hair and pubic hair in it. That was really gross. I'm guessing blankets haven't been washed for a while, so I would stay clear of those.
On the plus side, you get a big TV (literally), breakfast is included (the coffee is quite good). You have to ask explicitly for toasts if you want (they are quite reluctant to provide those).
It is a shame, with a nice investment, rooms could be refurbished, and this would become a thriving B&B!
At the moment, only stop there if you are a young backpacker with their own towel, linen, you don't mind doubtful hygiene (see other reviews about stray cats in the kitchen) and you intend to spend most time outdoors.
