My wife and I met my extended family at the Foxcombe Hotel for Christmas lunch. As my wife and I had to travel the farthest we also spent one night at this hotel.
We were welcomed on our arrival and once settled, we were given a short tour of the dining room and the bars etc. although like many small hotels in todays climate, there was several areas that were slightly tired and needed bit of a face lift, the fairly new owner had revamped the main bar which was spacious clean and bright with an excellent snooker/pool table etc.
The Christmas meal we had was of a good standard, as was breakfast next morning.
The bedroom was a little cool, even with the radiators on, but it was the coldest night of the year so far. To summerise I felt the B&B and cost were a little expensive for thia hotel as it stands, We have stayed in a lot better for less cost. However this hotel has a forward thinking owner, who could make the difference.
