Very dated, dreadful shower, and the worst breakfast I've ever been served in a hotel or b&b. Instant coffee, leathery eggs, grumpy service at breakfast. Manager very friendly though.

Returned again to the Rockaway Hotel with my Family plus My Mum and Dad for a 2 night stay.Fantastic service, Adam the manager couldnt do enough to assist us, very welcoming and a joy to know as we live in Ireland and will travel to the UK a fair bit, this will now be our base.The only critism from our part is the room we stayed in was small. but with 4 of us in there it would be anyway.We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone as you will go a long way to find a more pleasant welcome and courteous staff that care. Well done!

Room was pleasant. Some traffic noise but not unreasonable given urban location. Lovely old fashioned sash windows. Compact little bar and light airy breakfast area/restaurant. Only standard five channels on TV could be a problem but hopefully people haven't visited just to watch telly. Near station but we didn't hear any train noise. Mainly surrounded by Victorian villas and some trees. Decor is old fashioned with hints of 80s but clean and tidy. It gives it a great air of times gone by which suited us fine as we were on a local/family history trip.

Stayed with my Wife and 2 kids under 5 last weekend,found the place very reasonably priced and was very impressed with the staff especially Glen who was in charge for the weekend, extremely helpful guy and did his very best to look after us during our stay, Breakfast was very good and the evening meals were very good with a small but extensive menu.This hotel is definately child friendly and would definately stay there again.
