“Parking problems spoilt stay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

Good centrally located hotel but as other reviewers say, there is no parking and it was a nightmare trying to find the recommended car park. Used postcode on sat nav for the car park recommended by the hotel but was driving around in the dark for 30 mins looking for it. Went into reception to get exact location, was given map by receptionist but still couldnt find it! Going to a concert that evening in sub zero temperatures so not best pleased to be late and to have to walk a good 10 mins from the station car park which is all we could find with clothes on hangers. Recommended car park turned out to be opposite Hooters restaurant not no sign visible to show entrance - useless. You can only see it when you walk past it. Extremely annoying so not a good start. Check in was OK, room was nice and large and good facilities. Breakfast was good, could have been hotter but a self service buffet so expected. Booked through laterooms and on checking my receipt found that I had been overcharged 36 pounds by the hotel for some reason. Credited my account on checkout but not very good. Manager apologised which was nice but would probably not use again mainly because of dreadful parking.

Room Tip: Good view of the city from the higher floors, asked for a twin but was given a nice family room wit...

“Good location - Gig at the Ice Arena - Nottingham”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

Decided to go to a gig at the Ice arena in Nottingham (Captial FM Arena) but couldn't face the 2 hour drive back home. Decided to check out Jury's after staying in Aberdeen. On line B&B for me and my son offered a good price and the map indicated 5 min walk to arena with a secure car park close by. Didn't spot the car park so parked in the station carpark thsi a bit expensive - why don't these big hotels have basement parking? Check in a bit robotic and the staff didn't manage a smile. Wsa asked if I wanted my card leaving open to charge to in the hotel - I said yes (as I did in Aberdeen). Room clean and large. 5 min walk and we at the venue. Can back for a quick drinky before bed - guess what - couldn't charge to my room. Obviously I look a bit peed off (same thing happened in Aberdeen!) and the barman said he would sort it out. Breakfast good and another robotic check out but the lady did smile. Come on Jury's get your staff on a training course on how to at least try to be happy behind the reception desk and tell them how to make sure a guest can book to his room! All in all good value and nice and clean - will use again.

Room Tip: Our room overlooked the road but there was no noise.

“Staff are 'glass half empty'.....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

I travel fairly regularly around the UK and it's the 2nd time I've stayed at the Jury (usually stay in the Premier Inn across the road). Rooms are clean & tidy so no complaints on that front. The staff are the most miserable collection of people I have had the misfortune of coming across. Reception who barely look at you and can only usually mutter one word answers. Bar staff who treat pouring a pint as an almighty chore and restaurant staff who........I didn't chance it. In two visits, more than a year apart, I have failed to see any of them smile. Not once. I work in the customer service industry and quite frankly a smile goes a long way. Staff - SMILE.

“Nice Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

Very nice and clean hotel, the facilities are good and it is well poositioned in relation to the city centre. The parking and unloading of luggage is not so good , the car costs 11 pounds a day and there is no drive-in place for unloading and loading of luggage. Found breakfast so-so and the staff were hit and miss from very helpful to couldn't care less.

“Clean and tidy, friendly staff but lack of a car park prevents this being very good”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

I stayed overnight recently on a business trip and had the hotel booked for me, so my disappointment should perhaps be directed at the booking agency rather than the hotel re the lack of parking. You will however find parking over a rail bridge, a short walk and opposite HOOTERS restuarant, and, no I didn't eat there as the food in the restaurant was reasonably priced and offered what appeared a good choice.

The only issue I had was that despite playing around with the warm air heating I couldn't get the room to warm-up and had to call reception who did respond positively with a portable convector heater which took the chill off (room 401).

Room Tip: In the Winter make sure you can work the room air heating system.
