My husband and I came here for a conference and I don't know if we were disappointed because we had just stayed at the nice, new, modern Sheraton in Edinburgh (and then went on to a wonderful boutique hotel in London) but we were definitely not impressed.
I travel for work all the time and it felt like a slightly nicer version of a Hampton Inn in the US. Pros: the location is great, it is walking distance to a lot, free breakfast which is good (but restaurant is super dark for morning, cant even read newspaper), breakfast itself is tasty, hallways are nice, lobby is fine, staff is friendly and turned on heat in our room before we arrived since late arrival.
Cons: we had to move rooms since right next to the elevator the first time and it was loud, regular room was small and cramped so we upgraded for $15 Pounds to the next level which was much better, Internet code didn't work 3 times!, TV remote didn't work, room service menu limited, have to keep bathroom door closed while you shower so you don't set the alarm off (seriously?!?!).
