“Just fine for the money”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 January 2012

Stayed here for two nights when visiting family in Nottingham. Everything went smoothly enough. Our room was small but adequate, with a desk, a comfy double bed, a clean bathroom with good shower and good blackout blinds. There was a bar and restaurant which we didn't use, but breakfast was available for a fiver if you booked at check-in. The location was convenient, about 10-15mins walk from the train station, and close to the centre of Nottingham.

We paid £65 for two nights here, and can't fault the value at all. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

“An experience I won't be repeating”

Arrived at this hotel with a work colleague as we were having a night out in Nottingham. My first comment was the heavy smell of Lynx when we walked through the door of the hotel which is joined on to the car park.

The hotel was shabby and outdated, but it has a pool table in the bar!

The receptionist was helpful in allocating a non-smoking room, careful to not put us next to a group of young men in case it got too load. This I thought was good sevice.

The hotel room was on the first floor, but as we got there the corridors are a nice nicotine stained colour (urgh). Our room was basic, but clean(ish). Through the night I woke up because of a strong smell of cigarette smoke which I thought was a bit strange.

Anyway, we sampled the breakfast the next morning ... my advice ... give it a miss. I plated up a sausage, bacon, scrambled egg, toast and beans ... I ate the toast and sausage, but the rest was not fit for consumption. My colleague commented that even the tinned orange was terrible.

It was time to leave and I'm sorry to say I won't be returning...

“Great value for money; central location and no complaints”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

We stayed for one night and, having read some complaints on here, were a little concerned. However, we were pleasantly surprised. Our room on the 3rd floor was not huge but had everything you could want, including a good view. There were a couple of stains on the carpet and the armchair but nothing awful. Overall the room was comfortable and clean and we found the staff friendly and helpful. The hot water was plentiful and the towels soft an fluffy. The hotel is linked to the NCP carpark so we didn't even have to go out in the cold to check in. We got this room at a "sale" rate and paid only £22 - for a night out in Nottingham I don't think we could have done any better!

“people came into our locked room!!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

The location of the hotel is great, right in town, close to most attractions and a 15 minute walk from the train station. For the first time ever, i decided to choose a smoking room. Bad choice. Room 115 was shabby and dirty with a big crack on the bathroom floor in the doorway, and at the end of a corridor with a loud droning air con unit in the cupboard next door. i cant comment if all the rooms are in this condition, or just the smoking ones. In general, the hotel was comfortable, the staff were nice and friendly.
BUT!!!!!! I had previously booked Friday night, and a few days later, decided to book the Saturday too. They were both booked online, and i called the hotel prior to arrival to confirm that the two bookings were linked, and we would be staying in the same room. The receptionist confirmed she had linked the bookings, put a note with my name, and all would be well. Saturday afternoon we were laying in bed, having been on an overnight event the previous night, when 2 other guests unlocked our door and strolled in! To say we were shocked is an understatement. Who knows what may have happened had we not been in the room?

“Basic, cheapish, good location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

We stayed for one night in January. The price was cheaper than "nice" B&B's we stayed in on the same trip and we were given a large room with two bathrooms. Breakfast was pretty ordinary and the dining room and bar area a little frayed around the edges. The reception staff were friendly but didn't know much about where to eat in Nottingham. The city centre and castle are 2 minutes walk so the location is good. There's no parking so you have to park in a car park building next door for 10 quid a night. The hotel is fine if you just want a place to sleep that's not going to break the bank.
