This is our second stay at the Hollybush and it just gets better. The owner, Mary is exceptionally friendly as are the locals who all make you feel at home. The rooms are tastefully decorated and comfortable and would put many a hotel to shame. The views from the back beer garden are lovely and having been in winter now the fire in the bar is cosy. The food is good pub grub and reasonably priced. We will definitely be back for another visit. All you would expect from a country Inn and more.

we stayed at the holly bush inn for three nights nov 12/15th 1 night was free.when we arrived at the inn it was in a small hamlet in beautiful countryside very quite, and looked a bit tired from outside ,the inn itself is an old drovers inn and has been kept the same way with big log fires in the bar , the rooms are cracking every thought has gone into modernising without losing the atmosphere,they are very well done ,mary and her son Frankie run the inn , they are most welcoming and obliging nothing is too much trouble ,and they are scousers with a humour that could not come from anywhere else, the locals are ever so friendly ,and get up to all sorts of tricks (you are asked to join in the fun)the food ,breakfast full english a real plate full ,dinners are available they wee so good we ate there every night real old cooking,the chef should be on master chef,
there are hundreds of walks in the area , plenty of places to see (driving)
hadrians wall keilder forest to name but two .if you want peace and tranquil time get up to the holly bush inn brilliant

I stayed in the Holly Bush on the evening I proposed to my girlfriend. In advance Mary was exceptionally accommodating (I asked for candles and champagne to be in the room, and just for it to look generally lovely), and we had a really nice evening meal. On returning to the Holly Bush, we were welcomed into the pub next door and given a great reception by the locals, who welcomed us into the fold and made us feel as tho’ we had a family away from home! While this was obviously a special occasion for us, the Holly Bush and did not need to go the extra mile but they were exceptionally lovely, the room was great, food fantastic and experience memorable for all the right reasons.

Just perfect in everyway, Mary (the Landlady) was so helpful and lovely. As a female on her own (later joined by my husband) I could not have been made to feel more welcome by everyone. The food was delicious and a delight. It was such a joy being there.
The surrounding countryside was breathtaking, staying at the Hollybush Inn was utterly enchanting, I highly recommend you to stay there.
