The Kitty Frisk House is a beautifully restored 1900's house in large grounds. It is about a mile from city center with the last bit up a step hill. We walked it but you need to be in good shape. Our room was large and well decorated with a sitting area, twin beds and a large bath. The shower was a bit strange with only a partial wall but the floor didn't get wet so it was OK. The bathroom was as large as some hotel rooms.
The staircase had a large sitting area on the landing with a floor to ceiling shelves of books.
Breakfast was served in a pretty room looking out at the garden and hill side behind the house.
We happened to arrive in Hexham during the Abbey Festival which was small town fun. The Abbey is well worth a visit.
