I'm writing this a bit after the fact, but here goes. I recall the breakfast being quite tasty (especially the mint eggs) and the room very large and well-furnished. The shower had no edge along the floor, which I found odd, but it was large and roomy. The proximity to Hadrian's Wall is helpful, although I don't remember much about the town since we breezed through. However, the host recommended a nice pub downtown, which added a nice touch to a chilly January night. We only met John, but found him very personable. I would stay here again if in the general area, although it was priced a bit more than B&Bs we had encountered in Cumbria and other parts of Northumberland.
