The cottage has been turned into a fantastic self catering accommodation.
We arrived to a welcome pack of bread, butter, milk, tea coffee and marmalade. All we had to do was put kettle on and read through the local information and brochures which were provided. The cottage offers equal accommodation for two couples which is very rare (beds can be separated into twin beds). Everything was provided including washing/dishwasher tablets, drying facilities, ironing board. The original art work and immaculate presentation add to the atmosphere of this beautiful cottage.
Ian and Sar Millar have thought of everything we would recommend this cottage for all seasons, central heating, cosy blankets and a Log burner would make it perfect for a winter break.
We had booked for a week but luckily it was free for two more nights so we could extend our stay. We hope to go back again as there are so many beautiful places to visit.

Service was perfect, we even got direct ride to Vindolanda.
Bedrooms are made for a good night sleep.
And fireplace in "breakfastroom" worked fine.
Not to mention shower with chair and of course bath.

We had a very nice time staying in Montcoffer. Went there to observe lighting of the Hadrian's Wall and needed just 1 night accommodation.
From the moment we arrived to the last minute we had a feeling of being welcome with a discrete presence of helpful owners, Dehlia and John. We've booked B&B and on arrival were led to a luxurious double bedroom apartment with all mod cons included, and a beautiful traditional décor.
We had an option to choose a cooked breakfast the way we liked and everything was done and presented in a perfect way with a great attention to detail.
We departed happy and fully satisfied thinking what a great place would that be for our summer holidays.

We stayed two nights and had a great time. John and Dehlia were attentive to our every need. The breakfast was delicious. The bedrooms were comfortable and bathrooms were new. The price was very reasonable. I even left and adaptor behind and they sent it back to the States free of charge.
