My son and I walked Hadrian's wall during August 2011 and stayed at Hallbarns Bed and Breakfast. The stay was great, when we arrived at the end of a long days hike, we were immediately offered relax in their sitting room and offered a pot of tea and cake before going up to our room. The home is very quaint, and in the most picturesque setting one could hope for. The room we stayed in was very modern and comfortable. I would highly recommend this bed and breakfast to all travelers.

It was lovely to be welcomed with tea and homemade cake and our twin room was spacious, bright and comfortable. The evening meal was very nice, apart from the vegetarian main course - delicious sticky toffee pudding and cream for dessert! The owners were friendly and obviously took great pride in making guests feel at home.

We have just had a most wonderful short break at Hallbarns Margaret and Dick were the perfect host's. Wether you are Walking ,Cycling, or in a Car this is just the place for visiting the area and your welcome is second to none.

This is a lovely bed & breakfast, which feels like a family home. Margaret and Dick were extremely warm and accommodating, especially with our two small boys. The family room is spacious, pretty, comfortable and very clean. The shared rooms are also very nice. Breakfast was great, filling but not overwhelming and all freshly cooked and tasty.
The b&b is in a very beautiful and quiet village, the church is definitely worth a quick look. The surrounding area is superb, only 10 mins drive to see some of Hadrians wall, and there are very nice pubs nearby.

Overall we really couldn't fault it, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and will come back when the boys are big enough to do some of the walks.
