“Excellent accomodation at an excellent price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 July 2011

Absolutely beautiful little bed and breakfast. They have thought of everything and endeavour to ensure that your stay is as comfortable and memorable as you wished for. People are available to give you a hand if you need it but they stay out of your way for the most part. Breakfast was amazing- so much food! Much more than we had anticipated and really top quality. 100% recommend a stay at Carraw- oh! and did I mention the absolutely spectacular view from the bedroom window! If we're ever back in the neighbourhood we will certainly be booking with Carraw.

“Cosy comfort, quality food, relaxed atmosphere - ideal for the perfect break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 May 2011

Our stay at Carraw's was short but very restful. Kevin and Leah were very welcoming and helpful. It was great to stay in a traditional old farm house that had been transformed so well and so sympathetically into such pleasant accommodation. Our room (Housesteads) was very comfortable with many farmhouse features retained. Everything was tastefully decorated and spotless. The view was spectacular! The location of the B&B (for outdoor activities, to visit wonderful country houses, historic sites, museums) and the feeling it provides of being in the heart of the magnificent Northumbrian countryside was great. The dinner and breakfast we had were delicious and very generous portions indeed. Excellent value for money! It was obvious that Kevin and Leah put their heart to their business and they have every right to be proud of it. We would definitely recommend their B&B to everyone.

“A fantastic place to stay on our Hadrians Wall cycle”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 May 2011

Thank you for a wonderful one nights stay this weekend. After an eventful cycle from carlisle (puncture one hour in to the trip, rain and blustery winds) we arrived to a very warm welcome. Our room was beautiful looking out across the valley. A warm bath to ease the aching muscles, great fluffy bath robes. We were there on sunday evening, so tucked in to a hearty bowl of soup and a tip top ploughmans. We were off to newcastle the next day, and had a great start with a full english breakfast. A fantastic place to stay!

“Wonderful location;wonderful accomodation; wonderful food.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 May 2011

As a starting point for this leg of our Hadrian's Wall walk, Carraw B&B could not be faulted. The views across the rolling hills were a fantastic sight to wake up to and the breakfast, delicious and hearty, set us up for a long days walking. I would not hesitate in suggesting this place as an overnight ( or more) to anyone.

“Great place, fantastic hospitality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 April 2011

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at Carraw and had a lovely time. Not only was the weather truly wonderful for this time of year but the hospitality shown by both Leah & Kevin was fantastic.

The rooms are very comfortable (albeit Vindolanda is 'cosy') and offer a TV with DVD player & iPOD docking station, tea & coffee making facilities, wonderful home made biscuits and free water each day. The room is well maintained and, as has been said previously, the bed very comfortable.

I would echo previous comments in that the breakfast Leah serves up is truly wonderful with a choice of cereals, fresh fruit, toast, croissants as well as your choice of a freshly cooked hot breakfast - I challenge you to eat lunch ! The location is remote but that is very much part of the attraction and they are definitely worth finding.

Although we decided to eat at some of the local restaurants (I thoroughly recommend Battlesteads at Wark) Leah does offer an evening meal if you make a reservation and they have a fully stocked bar.

Leah & Kevin were both very helpful; genuinely interested in what we were up to and how they could help as well as great company. Our stay was to attend a family wedding but we very much hope to return and enjoy the country / a walk along Hadrian's Wall.
