“Great friendly B&B in beautiful location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 November 2011

Stayed here with my 14-year-old son for three days in October 2011. A beautiful cottage only 10 mins drive from Hexham and 5 mins from a couple of good pubs. The owner - Joan - was extremely welcoming and friendly, rustling up tea and biscuits as soon as we arrived. Everything about Peth Head Cottage is first class, from the initial welcome, through the standard of the rooms, to the impressive breakfast. Highly recommended.

“Excellent!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2011

We stayed here for one night in July 2011 en route to Scotland. Very quiet setting (which is exactly what we wanted) yet only a 10 minute drive to pubs, shops etc. Lovely walks from the door. Fantastic welcome with lovely tea and biscuits. Room very nice and breakfast (with home made bread and preserves) fabulous. Great way to break up the journey to Scotland from the south of England, but Northumberland is well worth a proper visit.
Will hopefully return with our bikes!

“Excellent welcomin”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2011

I stayed here with my husband for three days at the end of August. We found the B& B to be in a wonderful setting which was ideal for a restful few days which we needed.
The bedroom was lovely with a bed big enough to sleep a family in!

Every minor detail was thought about, and the pots of tea and homemade biscuits which we were given on our return each day, were a most welcome treat - tea really does taste better when served in fine crockery!

We would love to stay again if we find ourselves in the area - a big thank you to Joan and her husband

“Highly recommended”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 August 2011

I cannot speak highly enough of Peth Head Cottage. It is situated in an ideal location, about a 10 minute drive from Hexham.

Our host, Joan, was absolutely lovely and so friendly and welcoming. The tea she made us on arrival was most thoughtful and I would return just for the homemade biscuits she also gave us! She really did think of everything throughout our stay, and was happy to advise on places to go to eat, etc. The 2 local pubs (each about a 5-10 min drive) that she recommended were both great as well!

We had 2 rooms - one twin and one double - both were perfect. Everything that you could have required was available and I have no complaints whatsoever. I would stay here again in a heartbeat, it is a lovely B&B with a lovely hostess.

“Excellent”

Just had an over night stay but it was excellent. The room was lovely and spotlessly clean with lots of personal touches wich make such a difference. Joan is a perfect host and produces home made shortcakes, bread and jam to die for. I would not hesitate to stay again and would highly recommend it.
