“Wedding Guest”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

Stayed at the Park Inn on the 13th and 14th January 2012 as a wedding guest. The rooms were beautifully clean and the staff were helpful and courtious. The reception venue was lovely and the food was very good although I thought the bar prices for drinks were a bit pricey. Ideal location for Northampton town centre, good shopping mall too! My only quibble was that upon booking I received a letter quoting the room rate per night and upon departure I was overcharged £38 which I couldn't prove until I arrived home. Upon faxing the letter to the hotel reception they admitted that they made an error in sending the letter and refunded us, so can't complain about that. I would definitely stay there again.

“A good choice.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

I have stayed at the park inn northampton numerous times in the past 12 months and I will continue to return. Centrally located with friendly helpful staff and good facilities.
My experience has been to the contrary to the little negative feedback. It is a place I would recommend.

“Poor Quality Decor & Most Hotel Staff Are Not Interested In Customer Care.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

Hi Everybody, I have been reading some reviews and must admit I agree with quite alot of them. I have stayed at this Hotel over the past few years on business I come up from London a few times a year. Each time I arrive there is nobody available at he reception or I have to wait in a long queue when there is only one member of staff checking people in and checking them out when you do eventually get checked in when you arrive at your room the electronic card dosen't work and you have to go back down stairs with your luggage and queue again to get it programmed again this happens me every time. The Rooms had a little makeover a few years ago mainly Floors 5 & 6 but the quality is not great keep away from floors 1 & 2 they are totally shabby and have a very musty smell. They fitted new windows all over the Hotel about 2 years ago the old ones were rotted completely and some fell out before the decided to replace all the windows. The water in the showers is always cold I was in the shower on 2 occasions when the fire alarm went off also the last time I stayed the alarm bells in the emergency stairs was so deafening my ears were shot to pieces and I was pushed off the last 2 steps on llevel 4 by a man with total fear and panic honestly the fire alarms are a joke I mus have stayed at the hotel for a least a dozen of them they are a regular feature and they have every excuse under the sun but my theory is that they must have something going with the local Fire Brigade Station to train the Firemen. The Restaurant is Called RGB don't waste your money it's very bad the food is a greasy spoon quality the service oh they always get it wrong and the waiting time for your order is too long and the cost is so expensive you would get a much better meal up the town for only a fraction of the cost. One evening while on a very rear occasion that I dined at the Restaurant a man came up to my table told me that he was homless and kept shouting at me for money and food he was standing over me was spitting down on me and my food I tried to reason with him but I was really frightened eventually some of the staff from the dining room came back and they knew him they talked to him and I think they might have given him something I hope that they did. My point is that they never came back to me asked if I was alright I couldn't eat my food I complained they told me that the price of the meal would be deducted from my bill it never was. My worry now is that I have read read one or two other reviews about people having their belonings stolen I have seen recently persons hanging around different floor levels and I know that they are not guest of the hotel also I have got one or two notes dropped under my door at night from reception warning guest about persons hanging around the floors in the Hotel. The last time I stayed at the hotel the car next to mine had it's windows smashed in. I am going to stay elsewhere in northampton on my next visit they are plenty more Hotels in this area offering 10 times better standards at half the price.

Room Tip: Try Ibis if you want to be in the center of the town just across the road from The Park Inn. Premie...

Dear "Victory"

Thank you for posting your review on Tripadvisor

As we take all reviews very serious and use this to continue to improve both the product and the service I would really appreciate you contacting me directly to review your comments. From your review it becomes clear that you have not always experienced the service we strive to offer to all our guests. If you would allow us to discuss your comments with you directly it would give us a much better understanding as to where we can improve and could also highlight what we are doing well which made you continue to choose the Park Inn by Radisson over the previous years. I do hope we could meet at some point to update you on the refurbishment that has taken place and especially show you that the 1st and 2nd floor were indeed renovated in 2009.

Looking forward to discuss with you further either through email or whilst visiting Northampton

With kind regards

“Business hotel in the center”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 December 2011

Functional and friendly, with decent rooms and a full breakfast. I've stayed there 4-5 times over the year and it's.. consistent.
Downside- they use this awful carpet scent, making the room smell like a laundromat. They were able to change me to one that at least had not been recently powdered.
The bar there is a Rendezvous of choice for local office groups on the Christmas party circuit. they see happy and area always dressed for their occasions
There is a health club downstair with guest access and a lap pool with too much chlorine... but it is a life-saver for a tired traveler.
the hotel is priced right of course, since they know their market. Don't expect too much and you'll be happy!
Now for my pet peeve: Internet service is possibly more important than a king size bed, or four bath towels and a lot cheaper to provide. Why do hotels charge for it, and why do travelers just sign off on these bills. 15 GBP for a day or "free wifi' time is like selling air... shouldn't give any hotel managers new ideas though should we...

Room Tip: seriously they are all the same. that's the point, isn't it?

Thank you for your review. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us again and you are happy with the service you received.

With reference to your comment regarding the smell of the carpet cleaner in the bedroom; we immediately looked into this. Whilst it is our priority to ensure our room cleanliness is of a high standard at all times, it should not affect the guest experience. I apologize that it did, however, I am pleased to hear that you were re-allocated an alternative room to ensure you had a comfortable stay and hope this did not inconvenience you further .

We take your comments on board with regards to the price of our WiFi and Park Inn by Radisson is currently reviewing this and we hope to be able to update you on your next stay.

Thank you once again for your comments, and we look forward to welcoming you to the hotel when your travels bring you back to Northampton!

“everything you'd expect from a Park Inn”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 December 2011

The hotel is ideally located for the centre of Northampton. Stayed here on business in a twin room which was clean a good size, the ensuite was a large walk in shower which had a good power shower.
Room service was quick and efficient and the breakfast was buffet style and adequate.
Only compliant was there was only one pillow.

Thank you for choosing Park Inn by Radisson during your recent visit to Northampton!

I am pleased to hear your positive comments about our location and bedroom facilities.
I am glad you enjoyed our food offering both through room service and the breakfast; your comments will certainly be shared with our restaurant and kitchen team!

We noted your feedback on the pillow, as we of course want you to have a great night sleep, may we kindly suggest that upon making your next reservation, you highlight your preference for an additional pillow and our team will make sure this is in your room prior to your arrival.

Looking forward to welcoming you back soon!
