My wife and I stayed here recently and upgraded our room to a superior. What a pleasure. The staff were fantastically helpful, one lady even offered to walk our dog whilst we dines in the indian across the road one night.
It is a 10 min walk into York which is no problem, you also pass by one of the most tasty fish and chip shops we have ever come across (cant remember the name but it has a little wooden bench at the front window).
The hotel retaurant was also very nice with a carpark and garden orchard at the back. we had an offer of 2 night b&b with one night evening meal.

The room was HUGE with a roll top bath in the room itself, the bathroom was very modern with a rain shower.

The only downside was there was no pool, but you can overcome that with the other qualities of this charming hotel.

All said and done we will be returning to this hotel.

This was my first visit to a Hotel du Vin and I wouldn't hesitate to stay at another if they're all as good as this one in York. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful, happy to help with all of our bags, giving us tips on local places to visit and allowing us a late checkout so that we could enjoy a very leisurely, and delicious, breakfast. The rooms were great, lots of nice extras like the Nespresso coffee maker and nice toiletries and comfy beds. Our room faced on to the busy road outside, but there was no noise whatsoever from traffic. Would love to go back again soon!

The hotel is beautiful. All those boutique touches really made us feel spoiled. I got balloons and chocolate-dipped strawberries on arrival on request (it was my husbands birthday) and the room was really something special. Very big bath mezzanine level, room for both of us tall
people. Powerful and spacious monsoon walk in shower. The bar and bistro are both lovely with warm, beautiful decor. All this for a VERY reasonable price with the secret sunday deal. HdV gets it spot on.

This was my first visit to a HdV and it has definitely made me a convert. The rooms are incredible, the beds the best I've ever slept in, the service on the button. Throughly polished to a very high standard.
