This was a very convenient location for walking to the central part of York. Iris and her husband Dennis run a very nice but reasonable place to stay. They can provide a list of nice places to eat, good pubs and places to visit in York. We enjoyed our visit!

Me & my husband stayed at this guest house for 2 nights. Its about a 15 minute walk from the town and situated in a lovely quiet area.
I found the decor to be a little out dated and tired looking. The room we stayed in was ok but i dont no if it was worth the £70 a night we payed for it. The bathroom made very loud noices when the toilet was flushed or the taps were running which was not great if the other person was asleep.
Iris was very welcoming and the breakfast we had was lovely. I think some music could be played at breakfast as its a very small room which seats 10 people and can seem a little akward and silent in there.
The hotel was clean.

This B&B was very clean and comfortable, with a good English breakfast the next morning. We just had a weekend visiting York and would stay here again. We managed to park just around the corner, even on a racing weekend, with a (free) permit from the guest house, and left the car there all weekend while we walked into the town centre.

just returned from a 3 night stay in dalescroft ,must say it was very clean ,
iris gave you a very nice welcome(never did meet dennis)but he sure made a good breakfast,recommend it to anyone.
