the hotel is basic but very clean. the staff were lovely in both the premier inn and the beefeater. we asked to book a table in the restaurant if we wished to eat there as it was a Saturday night and it could be difficult to get a table without pre-booking. we found this helpful as the restaurant was very busy. we were served by dani n. she was very busy but took the time to make us feel welcome and explained that may be a slight delay on food as there were a few larger tables arrived before us. we didn't wait too long for our food approx 25 mins for 2 well done steaks. the food was delicious our waitress twisted our arm to take advantage of the "bottomless" chips and they arrived a few minutes after ordering. all the restaurant staff were lovely and really felt as though our trip was made by them. dani n is a credit to this company!!!

I was looking for a hotel to accompany the spa day I had booked for my fiance's birthday and after a quick search on google I came accross this hotel. I never hesitate to book a Premier Inn as we always know what to expect - a nice clean bedroom and bathroom and a good night's sleep. This hotel certainly did not dissapoint. We had a lovely welcome from the hotel receptionist Hilary who seemed genuinly interested in the reason for our stay and did all she could to give as much information to us about York and the surrouinding area.
We ate at the Bengal Brasserie which is a 2 minute walk from the hotel and an absolute must! The food was the best we have had at an indian restaurant and even better that it was on the doorstep. We had breakfast at the beefeater the next morning which was just ok, a little over priced for a cooked breakfast but this was expected.
If you are looking to go into York then the park and ride is about a 15 min walk away or just 5 minutes in the car. This is a great stress free way to see the city knowing your car is safe on their cctv monitored car park.
Overall a great stay, we would definitely recommend and are already thinking of planning another trip just to go back to the Bengal!

Just walk where ever you like less then 5 min Railway Station and City Centre
