Had a good stay, good food. helpful staff. The only problem was the room was cold.

I was looking for a hotel to accompany the spa day I had booked for my fiance's birthday and after a quick search on google I came accross this hotel. I never hesitate to book a Premier Inn as we always know what to expect - a nice clean bedroom and bathroom and a good night's sleep. This hotel certainly did not dissapoint. We had a lovely welcome from the hotel receptionist Hilary who seemed genuinly interested in the reason for our stay and did all she could to give as much information to us about York and the surrouinding area.
We ate at the Bengal Brasserie which is a 2 minute walk from the hotel and an absolute must! The food was the best we have had at an indian restaurant and even better that it was on the doorstep. We had breakfast at the beefeater the next morning which was just ok, a little over priced for a cooked breakfast but this was expected.
If you are looking to go into York then the park and ride is about a 15 min walk away or just 5 minutes in the car. This is a great stress free way to see the city knowing your car is safe on their cctv monitored car park.
Overall a great stay, we would definitely recommend and are already thinking of planning another trip just to go back to the Bengal!

Just walk where ever you like less then 5 min Railway Station and City Centre

Was able to book 2 rooms on a promotional rate @ GB19 each, which just happened to fall on the night we wanted. What better value could you ask for!? Both rooms were to Premier Inn specifications, good condition, no frills but certainly no disappointment with the beds, bathrooms or fixtures.
Service and assistance from the staff was excellent. A false alarm fire drill sent people scurrying from their rooms about 10pm but this was quickly sorted with good humor by all. Ample parking is available and the nearby park and ride service is a stressfree way to travel into the town without having to face traffic or find places to park. Late checkout/minding luggage was no problem for the helpful reception staff.
One disappointment would have to be the Beefeater restaurant. Service was very ordinary, food was just adequate and there were not even roast dinners available on their advertised 'Sunday Roast' promotion. There were few diners and it wasn't late, I suspect the cook hadn't turned up for the shift!
