“second visit..wow”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 November 2011

This was our second time at the Blue Rooms and it is still easy to see why it is rated so highly as everything is first class. The champagne and fruit bowl in the room, the fluffy towels and dressing gowns, the Moulton Brown toiletries, the huge roll top bath, the fully equipped kitchen and a fridge full of breakfast goods, soft drinks, milk etc. There is a charge of 10 pounds for a bottle of wine but there is even free gin, whisky and beer...it has everything. The apartment (number 5 this time, number 4 last time) overlooked the river Fosse. There is free parking and as for location location location it is in a great place for all amenities in York. We can not recommend these apartments highly enough.

“Wonderful appartment...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 October 2011

Really enjoyed this special little appartment... we had appartment number 5 complete with windows overlooking the river, four poster bed and roll top bath...! it's such a nice place, wtih great touches like, fruit bowls, champagne and a 'cook your own' breakfast! After breakfast we fed the ducks from a balcony window with the remaining bread. I get the feeling that the knew the routine, as because as soon as the bacon started frying, they started congregating at our balcony window! Expensive, but, worth it...

“Fantastic!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2011

Wonderful accommodation and several little extras which made everything so special. The owners have clearly thought about what they offer. The choice of drinks, the quality of the breakfast and how it is presented, the tea & coffee making facilities, all the kitchen utensils, the space available, etc etc

Having stayed in hundreds of hotels over my 19 years at work, I want to say, well done the “Blue Rooms” why on earth do we bother with hotels when this is the better alternative!

“Fantastic accomodation, we will definately be back!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 June 2011

We arrived early and the room was ready, we were warmly greeted and shown to our room and the convenient parking outside.

The photos on the web site do not do this room justice (room 5), it was beautiful, spotlessly clean and great extras including champagne, fruit bowl, mineral water, etc.

The contential breakfast was lovely.

The view and the location was second to none, right in the centre of York, everything within short walking distance.

Will definately be back, hopefully soon!!!

“Perfect - Definitely a place to return too.”

Have just spent a wonderful weekend at The Blue Rooms, staying in the Fosse Room. I booked the weekend for my partners birthday and he really enjoyed it. The room was just perfect. It had everything we could have wanted. A welcome break for both of us, away from pets, the kids and life in general. For anyone thinking of booking I would offer the following tips, 1) Remember it is essentially a self catering apartment, dont expect maid service, 2) If you leave at check out time (10:30) you will see the cleaner so no hassles with dropping off keys, 3) Either pay on arrival or, pay the day before you leave so again, no hassles with paying the bills. For myself and my partner, self catering with little or no intrusion from the management is perfect which is why the Blue Rooms suit us down to the ground. All the little touches, champagne, chocolates, fruit, preserves, soft drinks and a wonderfully comfortable bed and fantastic bath only add to the experience, not to mention the daily loaf of freshly baked bread. I could go on and on but suffice to say, a gem of a place, one which you would be silly to miss. We will defintely return.
