stayed 16th-20th jan2012 verry nice rooms good food helpfull staff reconmend to any one

Nice hotel close to the city centre with easy access from the station if going by train but limited parking for car users which has to be booked.
The room was clean and quiet at the top of the hotel as requested.
Breakfast was good but quite busy as there was a coach party in for the weekend but the staff kept everything topped up and tables were quickly cleared.

We have stayed here a few times now and always been really happy with the hotel. When we stayed on October I booked through the hotel and reserved a parking space too which we found much more convenient. The room was great, very spacious with a great view of the river. We always find the staff really helpful and friendly. Breakfast is good too but it does get busy - it would be better if they served the drinks to the table.
When in York we always try to book a table at Rustique which is very good and then walk the city walls afterwards!! The hour boat ride is pleasant.
This time we also booked a falconry experince at sutton on the woods which isnt the kind of thing we would usually do but we thought it was great and really enjoyed
We would always book this hotel when staying in York as our experince of staying here has always been positive.

A good hotel at a good price. Value for money.
Only problem is noise from some of the other guests but cannot hold the hotel responsible there. Shouting and slamming doors in small hours as pubs and clubs turn out.
Nice to see individual control for heating in room. Much appreciated.
