I visited this B&B with my girlfriend and the rooms looked really nice on the website and i was fairly happy with the price per room per night. However, when we were shown our room it was nothing like the modern photos - it was a sif we had gone back to the 1970's. The furniture, decor, carpet and bathroom were very dated!!

The heating system was awful, we were left freezing at night as we returned from a nice night out in York. We missed the breakfast by 10 minutes and were offered egg and toast, however, this wasnt anything to sing about - the egg was undercooked and the toast cold.

I did inform the lady on reception how unhappy i had been during our stay, nothing was said or done about it (no customer service)!! We certainly shall not be returning to this B&B. Please ensure if you book you ask for a refurbished room - the ones they show on their website.

Great city visit - just a shame i booked this place. Pay a little extra and go more central, it will be worth it.

very friendly . rooms are very comfortable breakfast is 1st class . only 10 min walk to town bed are large and u get a great nites sleep spotless we were there form tuesday till friday could not fault anything we were in room no 6 . we will be back again ..... danny & liz cochrane uphall

Very friendly, helpful and easy-going staff - and a really good breakfast: local bacon and sausages and a lovely touch was bringing the wholemeal toast wrapped in a white napkin to keep warm - plus real butter curls and a dish of marmalade. We had a quiet room at the top of the hotel with a bath and found it fine.

Only 10 mins walk to City.Rooms so comfortable,four poster and Spa bath(what more could a man wish for)!Breakfast 1st class.Staff helpful and friendly.Get booking.
