Im going to start my review by saying that Ascot House is a lovely guest house and its staff are very helpful and friendly. Our room was on the ground floor and suited our needs. It is perfectly situated for the city centre even though we didnt walk in but drove. Breakfast was extensive and the times were very clear and printed in several places so you couldnt forget. The car parking was the only difficulty we had as there seemed to be redecoration work going on and vans were parked in the car park so we had to park on the street. When i stay somewhere i like information to hand as i don't like disturbing people to keep asking questions, as a dog owner i would have liked a little more information in the room regarding the dogs do's and don't's,where to go for a walk and maybe a little welcoming touch for the dog like a biscuit and also a tray to put their bowls on as i wouldn't put mine on a carpet at home and felt bad doing so in the room.
my final point would be the warmth of the room i am quite a cold person anyway but there was quite a draft coming through the windows and i also realized that during the night the heating was turned off, i would prefer that the radiators had controls on so each room could control there own heating as im sure i would have had mine on as it was freezing outside. I would stay here again without a doubt.
