My husband and I had decided to visit York as a last minute getaway. After having read all of the great reviews for Burton Villa, we decided it was the place for us... and we were right. We only spoke to Michael during our stay and he was more than helpful. We ended up arriving late after being stuck in traffic for an hour. He was very friendly upon arrival and helped us in finding a parking spot just outside of the guest house. He showed us to our room, which was upgraded ''just because he could''. The room was great and very spacious. The ensuite was spacious as well. The one and only downfall was that the kettle needed quite a good scrub and had old water left inside. We took advantage of the DVD library supplied to unwind before bed. Great location for town and there were quite a few small takeaways, a Spar and a pub nearby for a quick bite. Michael also helped us in finding the takeaways as well as sorting us out a parking permit for the following day. The breakfast was very nice and filling. There was a choice for your hot breakfast as well as the selection of cereals and fruit. Definitely would stay again especially for the service and family atmosphere.
