Stayed several days to explore York. Not far outside the wall in a quiet area. The room was very comfortable. The breakfast was tasty.

This is a two star hotel and is judged accordingly. The welcome when we arrived was warm and inviting. The hotel is decorated and furnished from a bygone era but quaint. The hotel is clean and all the basics are very good. The bathroom is clean. One notice is the shower is in the bath which may not suit all patrons. The towels are fresh, fluffy and clean. There is a flat screen TV in the room. The breakfast is excellent. The poached eggs were perfect. We ate in the restaurant on both nights we stayed and the food was very good and there is a nice little bar just off the restaurant. We would have no complaints.

My Sister and I spent a very pleasant night in this "find" of an Hotel.
Prior to this my visits to York have been to big name hotels. The Alhambra was different but non the less a great place to stay.
Our room, on the ground floor, comprised of a twin room and bathroom, this was one of the original large rooms that had been pleasingly converted. The original internal shutters have been retained and they worked. We shut them at night and felt safe and snug. The beds were very comfortable and the linen nice and white.
There are two wonderful withdrawing rooms, also on the ground floor.
The breakfast was, as one would expect, a traditional breakfast, and I made the most of it. Plenty to eat and lovely service. Thank you ladies.
I was surprised to find the Hotel just a few minutes walk from the Minster and the shopping area. And, although there were revellers on the street in York centre, by the time we reached the hotel peace reigned.
I shall be more than happy to enjoy the hospitality at the Alhambra again.

Stayed at this hotel for 1 night as a last minute booking. Was very clean,comfortable and staff very friendly. Would stay here again.
