This was our second stay at this hotel, we stayed here December 2010.

This time we were in the main hotel and our room was much better than previously. The room was lovely and warm and the bed was really comfortable.

Breakfast was now all self service and a good choice. The cooked breakfast was nice and hot and you could have as much or as little as you wanted.

We booked with Late rooms and got a good deal.

We parked the carin the car park and didn`t take it out again until we went home.

The staff are friendly and our room was made up and towels changed daily.

We would definately stay here again as it is so central in York.

Have stayed in this hotel with my husband a few years ago, and remembered how convenient it was for the centre. Booked a 3 day stay for myself and my sister - shopping trip before Christmas. Very disappointed with the first room we were taken to, 21, - a twin; very small and cramped, dark, tiny bathroom(no bath), not a single picture on the walls or any hint that any money had been spent in recent memory on maintaining standards of comfort. Was shown 2 other rooms, 24 and 25, neither of which was much better, ended up on the top floor, room 39, which was more spacious, better bathroom, although cold, slightly more agreeable in overall standard. Lock on door didn't work, but in fairness this was fixed the next day. The upside was that, having walked all day, we decided to eat in the hotel on the first night, tried the early bird menu, found it really good, and in fact did the same thing on our other 2 nights; excellent food! So, not a disaster as I at first feared, but think I will stay elsewhere next time, unless and until the management spends some money upgrading their rooms!

stayed at lady anne middletons for only one night as we were christmas shopping but wished we'd booked another night.
Recepton area could do with being updated and there is a 'foisty' smell when you enter the area but don't let this put you off.
location: great. 5 min walk to centre.
Staff: friendly and polite.
Room: was absolutely spotless and the bed was the most comfy bed i've slept in.
Breakfas:Buffet style, Plenty of choice and plentiful
Parking: not a problem but we arrived around 10.30 as people were leaving so there were plenty spaces.
For £65 a night it was well worth the money and i would highly recommend it. will be booking next year:-)

Second stay at this hotel. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff are pleasant and helpful.The breakfast is excellent with plenty of choice. The evening meals in the restaurant are very good. The hotel is only bed and breakfast, but is within easy walking distance of the shops, eating places and visitor attractions. Will certainly stay here again on our next visit to York.
