I have stayed here on and off between October 2011 and January 2012 on business. I was most impressed with the standard of rooms, service and quality of food. The off road parking at the back of the property is very welcome and the gate is locked at night to ensure your car is secure. If you do need to go out, a code opens the gate so you are in control. Once parked you can walk through to the reception from the carpark giving great access. The accomodation i had was very good. I have stayed in 2 different rooms and both were of very good standard. The ensuite clean and crisp. The beds were very comfy and and warm. You have a nice flat screen TV and good alarm clock with radio should you want it. Ironing boards and irons in rooms, which is very handy to iron shirts for work. Complimentary soaps and shampoos in ensuite and plenty of towels. The breakfasts are extremely good and the service is secind to none. Carol was there most of the time when i stayed and she really looks after you well. Couldn't have asked for a better breakfast host. A credit to the place!! The whiskey Bar is very warm and cosy and they have a fantastic range of whiskeys to try including a good selection of beers and wines etc.. Wifi is free but in some of the rooms it's very weak and cuts off. So if you need the wifi make sure you book a room in the main building. prices are very good for the location to York centre and compared to other places nearby an absolute bargain. This iswhere i will stay when i come to York which is quite regular.
