Stayed at this Hotel for 2 days on Business.

Accommodation: Requested "Garden Room" as a friend had recommended. 1st room I was allocated was cold as heating was not working, and was reallocated another room immediately .

Unfortunately, the heating was not much better as the radiator needed attention after I reported it next morning and the hot water tap in the bathroom sink could only produce tepid water at best even after being left to run.

Me and my girlfriend came to York on the 2nd December to the 4th (weekend away), when we got to the hotel the electrician was there fitting the room's with new light switches (outside rooms) but still no problem as our room was already sorted and serviced.
We went to York for some dinner, about 4 minutes on the number 4 bus right outside the hotel, fantastic location not too far, not too close so nice and peacefull.
Once we got back to the hotel we had a little problem with out light switch which revolved in a spark or two coming from the bathroom light switch, so I went to reception and this was fixed from an electrician in under an hour, this was no real problem and to say sorry they have both me and the girlfriend a free drink each on the house.
The bed's where comfortable, Rooms was clean and the pool and hot tub was an extra nice touch.

Already planning of staying again for valentines day and already booked.

We stayed here whilst working locally.We got a nice greeting on arrival.All i ask when arriving from site is a nice warm shower clean towel, clean bed and thats exactly what i got.Couple of nice pubs within walking distance do good food.good choice on the breakfast menu. so all in all very good value for money.

We booked 2 double rooms for a weekend's shopping in York. When we booked we asked to be put in the main part of the hotel. We were assured this would happen. When we arrived we discovered that we were allocated 2 rooms in the extension. If I wanted to spend a weekend in a wendy house, then I would have stayed at home in my own garden! Rooms were very grubby (we were told they were freshly decorated), the carpet had an iron burn on it and was very dirty and tired looking. The radiator didn't work so no heat in the bedroom. When we reported this the man came to have a look, well more of a glance really and said he didn't know why it wasn't working. He then gave us a fan heater which had no thermostat. Radiator in the bathroom was boiling so at least we did have a bit of heat. The door to the 'wendy house' wouldn't lock easily either, so when went to lock it we had to 'lift' the whole door!!

A real shame as the hotel is in an excellent location for the Racecourse and City centre. I would not recommend this to anyone at all, and will definitely not be returning.



Customer service was very poor.
