I've stayed at many Ibis Hotel's before and have generally had no bother with them. However, the amount of noise experienced at this hotel was a bit too much. Noise from the rooms above (and below) and noise from people walking in the corridor.
I think a lot of it is to do with the design of the building and not actually due to the hotel staff, who were quite pleasant and happy to assist with any problem/query.
We did experience a power cut, late check-in and failure of the air conditioning/heating - but none of this affected out stay too much.
Quite a nice location - 10 mins from the station and about 15/20 min walk into the centre of York.
