I stayed here on Thursday 02/02/11 with my husband for a special family reunion. I cannot praise the staff at the hotel enough. ALL the staff here made our stay even more special and we were treated like royalty. The staff could not do enough for us. The rooms are amazing, the bar area, in fact the whole place is just out of this world. The hotel even arranged a private room for our reunion to take place. I am so glad we chose this hotel to have our special meeting as the hotel and the staff made it an even more special occasion.
There are some amazing touches such as mints on your car seat if you use the valet parking, fruit in the room and lovely Molton Brown products. The staff are friendly but professional. We loved it and will definitely return. Deserves all the 5 stars it has!

My wife and I stayed for our 25th wedding anniversary and would recommend the hotel for its attention to detail and staff that were helpful and happy and where nothing was too much trouble! On arrival our car was taken by the valet and returned as we left. The check in was very quick and we were taken to our room which was the largest we have stayed in and had two bathrooms. All the features of the room were explained to us and we were left to explore the hotel. From arrival to leaving we had nothing but smiling helpful staff and the most fabulous service you could wish for! We have booked to return shortly and like to think this is a hotel we will use for romantic weekends in the lovely city of York on a regular basis. Well done to the great staff and management.

I was given a voucher for Afternoon Tea for two as a Christmas present. The hotel is quite stunning, not only from the outside but also inside. Very impressed with the refurbishment. Afternoon tea is served in the smaller of the two corner rooms on the ground floor. But the size of the room is just right - great for that special meal. There is a choice of approx 15 different teas and 5 different coffees to choose from.These can be changed so you have the option to try different ones. The tea was served on a 4 tier silver carrier; 12 finger sandwiches of fantastic filling, some traditional and some modern, a warm fruit scone with clotted cream and 4 different fantastic cakes, all of which were scrimmy. The added bonus is that if you can't eat all the cakes, they put them in a box for you to take out and have later. great eh! The whole experience was not rushed and service was wonderful. Thank you Sabhir and his team for looking after us so well.

My wife and I arrived at the Cedar Court on February 1st and spent 2 nights in an Executive Double room. From the moment we arrived the service was excellent and the staff very polite and friendly. We had afternoon tea which was plentyful, beautifully served and equally tasty. We only had breakfast at the hotel and found there was plenty of choice at the buffet. A cooked breakfast for us was £5 extra (which the staff advised us about on placing the order). Our Room was spacious and comfortable. The evenings in the Whisky Bar was relaxing with the staff being attentive but not intrusive. We would happily stay there again.
