“Wish we could live here!!!”

This was our second time at the Langley and an important one for us as we were getting married on the 11th November. We had requested room 1 again as we had enjoyed our stay last the time. The room is spacious, well appointed and in keeping with the rest of the hotel. The breakfast is as good as anything I have had and there are plenty of choices if you feel a need to avoid the full english.

On the day of our wedding, Bob, the owner of the hotel chauffered my wife to be to the registry office. This was after taking a number of photos of the both of us. Returning to the room later in the evening, we found that Bob had printed and had framed one of the pictures he had taken earlier of the two of us. Totally unprompted and a wonderful touch.

Thank you very much to both Pam and Bob for making our stay in Whitby memorable. The great reviews that you get are fully deserved and we count down to when we can come and see you again

“Lovely place to stay in Whitby, huge rooms”

Stayed at the Langley for 2 nights. Had a room with a sea view overlooking the gardens also.
ROOM- was very large, extremely clean, lots of storage space, lovely clean large bathroom. Fridge with small bottle of milk provided which was very useful. Bed was very big and comfy. Only slight problem (and we were aware of this when booked room so not a complaint) was our room was on the 3rd floor and there are a lot of stairs! I found it quite hard work as was pregnant at the time. If you are less mobile then do bear this in mind when you book!

BREAKFAST- very nice, had full english both mornings, also cereals, toast etc. Waitress was very helpful finding me some decaffeinated teabags and even put some in our room for later.

AREA- fairly easy to find parking outside hotel, managed to park right outside one night. Parking was free. Might be more tricky in peak season/school holidays etc? Fairly easy walk into Whitby itself. Whitby tour bus pick up point outside the Royal Hotel which is about a 5 minute walk-very useful for getting around main sights, up to the Abbey etc.

Bob the owner was very helpful and welcoming.
Probably not the cheapest place to stay in Whitby but worth paying for knowledge it is a lovely, clean, comfortable place to stay in a good location. Would recommend.

Room Tip: Seaview rooms well worth it. Bear in mind the stair climb if you have a choice though.

“Lovely hotel and excellent host”

Stayed at the Langley for 3 nights and really enjoyed being there, our room was large and very nice , lovely view across the gardens, Bob is one very friendly person and made an effort to talk to everybody each day, food is wonderfully cooked and very good choice
The location is pretty central and we found it very easy to walk in to the centre, good pub called the Granby which is about halfway between the town and the hotel
The fridge in the room is a good touch as it allows you to have cold drinks anytime, it really is somewhere i would recommend to anybody and i would certainly stay there again

Room Tip: Room number 2 is beautiful and the view is excellent

It is a long time since I stayed in a Guest House but this has made me think again. Excellent quality of decor and comfort along with a Host who makes you feel welcome. His helpful and friendly manner was refreshing and the staff are Very Good. The quality / and Breakfast choice would leave no one wanting.
