the pier inn was absolutely superb,lovely room,the best views in whitby,fantastic staff from land lord and landlady,to other staff like sam etc etc.breakfast superb and all in all our stay was just perfect.just like to say also how as soon as we arrived we felt so welcome it really was like home from home.already booked up for next new yr.big pat on back to all at pier inn at whitby.thanks all from mr and mrs pounder from hartlepool.

Stayed here for one night on the 26th November. I've stayed here a couple of times a year for the last three years, the present manager and staff are by far the best and friendliest. The rooms are clean if a little dated, mainly pine furniture, but what do you want for £65/twin or double room. One of the best views in Whitby over the harbour and the breakfasts have also improved dramatically, I understand from the manager that they now have live music on Friday nights which could be noisy for some guests, but during our Saturday night stay there was no noise from the pub at all. Good luck to the new management, who've been in charge for only four months, if they can improve things this quickly I can't wait to revisit in June and see what else they've done.

from the momment i walked in it felt like we had known each other a long time. vanessa and the staff gave us such a warm friendly welcome from the start. we was a party of 5 staying for 4 night the rooms where excellent clean,well layed out,there was a tv kettle plenty of tea coffee and milk replenished each day the bed was lovely i did not want to get out of it. i was in room 3 the view of the harbour was 1st class.the food was excellent and plenty.the bar atmosphere was brillent the bar clean the beer spot on the bar staff friendly (lovely) and very efficient.in fact it was that good we'v booked for next year

We discovered this pub on our first day in Whitby, and it quickly became our 'local'. The guest beers are great (any pub serving Taylors Landlord gets 5 stars in my book), the service is efficient, the staff are friendly, and there is plenty of room to sit both inside and outside.
