What more can I say, I stayed at the Wheeldale on Business and was very impressed with the hotel. The room was fantastic, with exellent sea views. I had Sky TV, a comfy bed and the ensuite bathroom was large with a large shower. The hotel was clean and staff/owners friendly. 2 of my other collegues where tere and there rooms were of an exelent standard. Collegues of mine have recomended this hotel and continue to stay there, I will be joining them!

This hotel is situated on the sea front and there are great sea views from all the rooms at the front of the hotel. It is only a few minutes walk to the attractions on the West Cliff and just a few minutes further in to the town and harbour. There is a very nice lounge (with a lovely cat!) and even a mini-bar where you take what you want and pay afterwards. The rooms are a touch on the small side but have all the facilities you need. The breakfasts were were very good. The only draw back is car parking. There is a small car park in frong of the hotel and it is very easy to get blocked in. There is limited on street parking but if you move your car during the day you may have difficulty finding a place again. The lady who serves the breakfasts deserves a mention as she was very friendly and efficient,

The Wheeldale is in a great spot - right by the sea, with views across the sea to one side, and over the Moors to the other - a short walk into Whitby town centre.

We went early September - and got very good value rooms. Our room (6) had a large upstairs lounge with sea views, and even two bathrooms. Service is friendly, and there's a honesty bar in the lounge.

Breakfast is good - fry up, decent ingredients and they'll vary it for you.

Only (minor) down side is the decor in a couple of places could do with a bit of a refresh.

Car park very small so left car on road. Poached eggs for breakfast were hard ! Not very friendly staff when having breakfast it was uncomfortable if you stayed in room after nine as they started clearing and relaying tables round you breakfast is served 8 till 9 which is quite early .People above us could be heard very easily woke us upon leaving very early . Very clean, but would look around before staying here again .
