Reception, restaurant and bar areas had all been refurbished and were very welcoming. The rooms were large but in need of a refurb. The bedding and towels were clean but the room was shabby and the bathroom was in desperate need of a new shower curtain. The food was very good and staff friendly. The cost of the package for one night was very good and we could put up with the room.

We stayed 2 nights and was well and truley amazed just how great the experiance was for what we paid, Our room was very clean if a little tired, warm and spacious. Staff couldn't have been more helpful and breakfast was superb, we will return.

Stayed 1 night and used as a base for the Thursford show. Really nice staff, room was large and very clean. Breakfast was a little hectic as 2 coach loads were departing at the same time, so the restaurant was busy. Not a problem for us as we had plenty of time. Night porter was very patient and catered for our drinks requests very politely until 2 a.m. We were a family group of 16 people and the Brook Hotel served our purpose perfectly. We booked the room early and paid £55 on B&B, amazing value.

Not quite sure wher to start. Arrived Friday afternoon and booking in was pleasant. told where the room was but when I opened the door it started to go downhill. It was like going back 30 years, it was dull and dingy and really cold. Not very inviting at all. The bed was hard and the pillow was no thicker than a folded towel. I had a meal in the restaurant in the evening, it was carvery. The only good thing about it was the meat, every thing else was frozen out of a packet not fresh and not very hot. It was because of this I gave breakfast a miss and left early. I will not be coming back.
Credit where it was due the staff were good and did there best in a poor situation.
