“Very friendly and welcoming”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 June 2011

The staff at this hotel were amongst the friendliest people I've ever met and they were willing to bend over backwards to accommodate our requirements.
We ate in the hotel restaurant, the dinning area was clean and the food was good and excellent value for money.
The rooms, whilst small were clean, functional and nicely decorated.
The hotel itself is conveniently located just a 10 - 15 minute walk from the town centre.
I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

“An OK stay”

The Baltimore was certainly fine for a one night stay. Yes, parts are rather dated but the bedroom and ensuite were roomy enough and clean although the desk was a bit small. Staff very pleasant and the food was good - the cooked breakfast was excellent . It is a good 15 minute walk from the centre and is in a rather run down area with nothing really close for recreation or eating. i would certainly stay again.

“Teeny, Tiny, Tired Room.”

Similar review to lots of others really. It's a really small room with no view. The en suite facilities are poor and the decor should have been updated in 1970. The floor looks dirty and the duvet has no cover, I can't imagine what sort of hygiene issues that causes. If you're coming to stay here, bring a sleeping bag. I'll be sleeping in the car.

“good food, good service facilities tired”

have stayed at the baltimore on more than one occasion because of work and always longish visits. first visit rooms were terrible but on booking out we spoke to reception who booked the executive rooms in advance for subsequent visits.
restaurant service is great and the food fabulous(part of our package bit steep if you were on a budget)
hotel a bit dated, rooms very dark, bathrooms first visit poor but following visits more than satisfactory, service great, lovely people!! albeit hotel could do with bringing into the 21st century

“A bipolar hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 September 2010

Outstanding in some areas, terrible in others;
When we arrived our rooms had been allocated to someone else and we were not alone. 3 other guests standing in the foyer waiting for a resolution to their identical problem. The hotel eventually put us up elsewhere but this took 2 hours to sort out.
We returned for the remainder of the week. Some of the staff were a little complacent but the rest were amazing! Kate and Lynda inparticular were the most friendly and accommodating waiting staff we have come across and the food was superb!
The rooms?? If you are travelling alone and don't want to swing a cat they are fine, if not a little warm. However the doubles are single rooms with double beds in against the wall.
I would stay again but only because of Lynda and Kate and also there is very little choice in Middlesbrough it seems!
