We stayed in the Re for one night. The hotel is clean, modern and comfortable. When compared to some hotels that we've stayed in for double the price, this place measures up well. Our room was on a corner and larger than the usual doubles, however even they are a good size. The hotel bar looked quiet and would have been nice for an early evening drink.
The only slight downside, for us, was that it isn't brilliantly located - we'd prefer to be able to walk to the nightlife of Shoreditch, than 5-10 minutes to the tube station (alternatively taxi was £10 to get there). The hotel is on a busy road, and our room at the front just one floor up. Despite this - we didn't notice a problem with noise, but I think maybe requesting a high floor or room round the back might generally be a good idea. So next time we will look elsewhere on the basis of the location issue, but may well return on the grounds of the very reasonable pricing.

Just back from London on a work related trip. The hotel was absolutely spotless clean . The room I stayed in was as good if not better than any 5 star hotel I have stayed in. I had a superior double room but all the single, twin and doubles were the same rate so I was obviously pick the best one. The bed was mega comfy and the room itself had everything needed, wifi, fridge iron and ironing board and all the usual toiletries etc. Breakfast was included as a January special free and it was buffet style. Lots of choice. The food could have been a bit hotter but was still nice. I had lunch also and it wasn't brilliant but good enough. Most of the staff were pleasant and helpful. There was one that was a bit sullen but I suppose they can't all be jolly. This is a great base for the financial district but also a good base to explore London. Buses stop almost outside the hotel and train/ sub links are not far. I would certainly return . Brilliant value

Used this hotel for business. Overall I'd describe this hotel as average, although is better than most budget solutions in London.
Relatively quiet and very clean.
Location is good for East London although be prepared to get buses to the nearest tube/restaurants if you aren't getting a taxi as they are a bit far to walk.
Surrounding area is your typical Hackney. Doesn't look great but is harmless.
All in all, this place does the trick at a good price (paid £105 a night).

Booked this for a 2 night break 27 & 28th Dec 2011. We chose the hotel because our daughter lives and works in Shoreditch and we didn't want to break the bank just after Christmas. So glad we made this choice, spotlessly clean room, linen and bathroom with an extremely powerful shower. Nice big comfy bed. Excellent staff, polite and friendly, very pleasant bar area. As other reviewers have said there is a bus stop across the road which takes you into "the city" or right into the west end, no need to use taxis. We didn't bother to have breakfast but did use the cafe across the road once which is also recommended and very cheap. We have stayed in many other more expensive hotels in London in the past but this will be our choice from now on. Well done RE!
