“What a find!!”

Wow what a wonderful find in the middle of London.
The staff were so lovely and couldn't be more helpful. I had to bring my son to Great Ormond St Hospital for tests over 5 days a week before Christmas and my goodness the the staff looked after us. The service was faultless and so so kind. Nothing was too much trouble. The owner was amazing and treats her staff and guests very well.
The breakfasts are brilliant and the Lady in charge of the dining room and ground floor whom unfortunately I have forgotton her name but anyway she is an absolute super star and really understands customer service!!!!
I came with my brother and he was also staggered at how good the Hotel was.
I can't believe that anyone would have a bad word to say about his place!!
It is also very close to Russel Sq Tube and a great Pizza Hut on the main road and a lovely Pattissiere on the main road as well. So plenty of places to eat . Also a huge Sainsburys about a 15 min walk away if you dont want to keep eating out...can get expensive!!
I have to bring my son at Easter again for more tests and I am bringing my husband this time
hopefully and I can't wait!!
The Hotel is also very clean and you are given loads of towels. I didn't mind sharing a bathroom and I never had to wait. One tip is to wait for the hot water to come through on the shower which can take a while but is does come!.
Well done the Celtic you are Gold Star in every way!!
I am a huge fan.

Room Tip: Choose a back room for a quieter stay. Depends if you are a light sleeper or not!!

“Spotless”

We were here in the fall and I thought I'd share our experience. The hotel is just around the corner from the Russell Square tube stop--perfect for getting into town quickly. The reception was friendly and extremely helpful in providing maps, directions and tips for things to do. The room was airy (we were on the back of the building) and we had a private bath that was spotless. The entire staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back!

“Great location, wonderful people, nice rooms”

We love this location in back of the grand old Russell Hotel overlooking Russell Square and just around the corner from the Russell Sq. Tube stop. Our very pleasant twin room with bath overlooked Guildford St. but was very quiet, airy, and had all the comforts we could ask for. The staff was very helpful and breakfasts offered varied from traditional full English breakfast to simple cereal and toast. We brought our own Greek yogurt which they held for us in the refrigerator. We stayed a week and were glad of our choice. Nice lounges with comfy chairs for reading, and a decent little library. Internet connection was a problem for a couple of days.

Room Tip: Ask for 1st floor if you don't like to climb stairs. Front room over entrance worked out well f...

“We sure missed the previous staff...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 December 2011

The Gerra's who managed the hotel for years have gone. The new management (part of the same family) are trying to update the place and modernize it, but the price has almost doubled in the past couple of years and they still have a long ways to go. Breakfast was still very good, and they tried their best to keep us happy, but our first room was so small that we literally could not unpack. To lay down we put our bags on the floor...to walk we had to put the bags on the bed. The closet was so near the front door that we couldn't really even use it.Two tiny beds. This room would have been fine for ONE person---with one bed---but for two it was a joke. They did move us the next day when a new room became available...but why you would even have such a room in the first place was slightly unbelievable.

The room I reserved was occupied and one person of my group has to sleep alone in other room. The staff was not friendly and We received no apologize for the mistake. I think it's a bad way to start. Our room was clean but noisy. Great location and good breakfast.
