Booked the room through the hotel's website, which I believe has the best deals, especially with longer (>4 days) stays and advanced purchase. We got the suite to accomodate 2 adults plus two kids. Front desk staff extremely helpful and friendly. Room layout a bit like a cruise ship cabin - compact, efficient, lots of storage space for the square footage. It is a rectangular shaped room. The sofabed occupies the side of the room close to the window, the queen sized bed is near the entrance, and the middle portion of the room has a very sleek bathroom and a kitchenette. There is a small microwave which is nice when you have kids who constantly want to snack. We got a room on a lower level facing the train station, which does not provide much of a view, but there was not much noise either. Location is fantastic - can easily walk to Parliament, Big Ben etc by crossing the Westminster Bridge, 5 min away from the London Eye, and a pleasant 10 minute walk along the South Bank to the Tate Modern and Millenium Bridge, with the Globe Theatre on the way. There are some restaurants, cafes etc clustered around the County Hall/London area, but also some eateries for a quick bite in the Waterloo train station. Housekeeping was excellent, room was always spotless. Very family friendly. Kids got vouchers which they can exchange for candy bars or ice cream at the restaurant on the mezzanine level. They loved it! Also got little activity books etc which made them very happy.
