I booked a "small single room". And small it was. 4,8 sguare meters. Next step down would be a hole in a wall, with a bed. No chair, because there was not place for a chair. No scrubb, because there was no space. Shower two stairs down. But my room (number 11) had some advantages compared to other rooms in this B&B: Big window with open view and silence. Most of the other rooms I would avoid. Either no view att all (just a wall a few meters away), or small windows, or very affected from traffic-noise.
The breakfast-room was large for beeing in such a small hotell. Good service. But the breakfast you better have just once. Only milk and cereals beside a poor standard English breakfast. Not that the quality was poor, but the contents. I strongly advise everyone booking a cheap London Hotel, to take breakfast excluded. Lots of very good breakfasts available near every hotel.
This B&B has, in my opinion, very good location. Not far from Oxford Street and Hyde Park. It´s spotless clean. Very small (14 rooms?). No lobby. It´s recommendable not to forget any valuble items in your room when you leave. You may never see them again.
PS. The reason I give poor grade for sevice is that I was given only one very small envelope of shampoo for 4 nights. And they managed to spirit away my camera-bag, which I forgot after leaving the room. (No one else had moved in, before it had disapperad. First time after hundreds of hotels such a thing happened to me.)
If you are prepared to pay 50% more you will get a 100% better hotel-room. (But not all expensive are good.)
