“Great hotel for the price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 February 2012

My wife and I stayed here when we went up to London to see Snow Patrol at the o2. Booked through last minute as a secret hotel, ( although reading the write up and the number of reviews its easy to see which hotel it is)
We found the hotel quite stylish and modern, room very comfortable, bed a little hard for my liking, interesting nude piece of art on the wall which was funky! Sky sports on the tv, huge bath in the bathroom. Free wifi, though you needed to pay to use it through the tv.
We didnt get a view of the o2 from our room as it was a standard room for £61 but found it to be incredibly good value. Mc d's breakfast 2 mins away v breakfast at the hotel for £19.95 each, room service prices seemed reasonable and we didn't even use the spa facilities which looked really good.
To get to the o2 as there were engineering works on the DLR, it meant a walk to canary wharf which was 10 mins and then 1 stop on the jubilee line, next day it was a few mins walk to the DLR station, good location, nice safe area, would definately stay there again.

Dear Guest,

I would like to thank you for your kind comments about your stay with us. I am glad to see you did not have problems finding us while the DLR unfortunately was suspended. As you mentioned, we do offer fantastic spa facilities which are complimentary. All hotel guests can enjoy the relaxation room overlooking the river and 02 Arena as well as the sauna/steam room and gym.

We look forward to welcoming you back next time you are planning to visit London and hope you enjoyed the Snow Patrol concert you were here for.

Kind Regards,
Jane Tones

“Average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

We stayed at the Radisson Edwardian over the weekend of 11-12 February to see a concert at The o2.

Whilst the hotel may be great for those visiting Canary Wharf, I dispute any claim that this hotel is in an excellent location for either central London or The o2. There is a DLR station moments away, however the network was closed and we had to use the nearest Tube station (Canary Wharf) some 15 minutes walk away. From there, central London is at least another 15 minutes by Tube; the o2 a further 5 minutes. Even when the DLR station is open, the TFL journey planner would suggest that journey times would still be of a similar length. Because the DRL was closed, we had to walk back from Canary Wharf. The area that the hotel is situated in is perhaps not the best to walk through late at night, some quite strange goings with certain 'couples' along the route!

The hotel itself is adequate and served its purpose. It is a fairly big, modern complex which is situated alongside private apartments. I found the hotel to be quite 'cold' and impersonal, suggesting it is more geared towards the business clients rather than tourists or visitors to the city. The room we had was basic; whilst it did have a flash TV and iPod docking station, they didn't add anything to my stay. Our view was of the adjacent office block and not of the o2 as some reviews would suggest would be almost guaranteed. The air conditioning unit was rattling throughout the night and the bed was hard; whilst we did have a good night's sleep, I suspect this was more due to how tired we were rather than how comfortable the room was.

The door to the room didn't close properly on a number of occasions, luckily we checked the first time and realised that it hasn't locked.

I would not stay at this hotel again because I found the logistics of getting around difficult (and we are a 'fit' couple in our twenties), and quite simply we have had far better experiences from 4* chain hotels in central London for a lower price.

Dear Guest,

I am unhappy to see that your visit to the Radisson Edwardian New Providence Wharf was not up to your expectations. As you mentioned East India DLR station is within five minutes walk of the hotel and unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, the whole DLR line was suspended for the weekend you visited. This of course does mean a longer 10 minute walk to Canary Wharf tube station if using public transport, however we also offer a taxi booking service, with the 02 Arena being only 15 minutes drive away.

Regarding the room view you expected of the 02 Arena, we cannot ever guarantee these as they are a superior room type. On the weekend you visited we were very busy, I would be delighted to welcome you back to offer you the chance of booking one of our river view deluxe rooms, which do provide a fantastic view across the River Thames. Please do feel free to contact me personally via the hotel - I would be delighted to assist you!

Kind Regards,
Jane Tones

“Distinctly average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012 via mobile

This hotel is more image than substance. There was a nice Bose sound system which didn't work, a bathroom tv which didn't work, a fancy standard lamp which didn't work and another where the switch took 5 minutes to find and then my wife couldn't reach it! The room was dark, rather than stylish. The black glass furniture only served to highlight the dust! Add to that the broken door architrave which gave a feeling of insecurity and we were totally underwhelmed. Any claim that this hotel is close to central London is frankly dishonest!

Dear Guest,

Firstly I would like to thank you for staying with us at the Radisson Edwardian New Providence Wharf Hotel. I am sorry to hear that you felt the hotel did not meet your expectations. We do appreciate the feedback as it does help to ensure that we can provide a superior service and standard.

I am aware of the issues that you had from when I checked you out, and I have made sure that these have been dealt with. Your feeling of insecurity does worry me and I only wish you would have told us so we could have rectified the problem while you were with us.
Regarding the location of the hotel, whilst we are a little way from Central London this does give us the advantage of being able to provide more space for our guests to enjoy as well as being a prime location for the 02 Arena just across the river.

Please do not hesitate to contact me via the hotel if I can be of any further help. I would be delighted to help.

Kind Regards,
Jane Tones

Dear Guest,

I am very sorry to hear of your concerns that you had whilst staying with us. We do pride ourselves on our 'Yes I can' attitude ensuring that all guests' problems are dealt with while the guest is still with us.

We do offer our full English breakfast at half price on weekends but unfortunately not when taken in the room. As this was not mentioned to you when you checked in, I ensured that this was reimbursed to you so you would only pay for the half price breakfast. We also gave you a complimentary bottle of wine on the second evening as a way of apology. I am sorry to hear you were still not happy about the situation...please do not hesitate to contact me personally via the hotel if I can be of any further help. I would be delighted to assist you!

Kind Regards,
Jane Tones

“Faultless modern hotel in great location”

We arrived by car through a reassuring security barrier to enter this complex of apartments and hotel overlooking the River Thames and the 02 Arena. The front desk area is well staffed and your car is parked for you at a very reasonable rate for London. Check in staff and concierges are excellent - friendly and knowledgable. Our room was spacious and equipped in a contemporary but efficient way - everything you are likely to need is at hand. The bathroom was impressive, with a separate full sized bath and rain shower. We enjoyed a snack in the bar and an ample and varied breakfast in the morning: again, the staff were impressive. Our weekend rate was highly competive for what is largely a business hotel and included various extras not offered at other nearby hotels. We went into Central London using the tube from Canary Wharf. It is further than we had expected - maybe around 20 minutes to walk - but from there it is a fast and easy journey on the Jubilee Line.
