Have just come back from a new years here, I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone, it was the downside to an otherwise fantastic new years holiday!
First things first - we were overcharged. I was given a roughly £65 mark for a twin room per night, which for new years eve I LEAPT on for myself and my friend, and I booked 2 nights. When I rang back several months later to add another night, somehow I had managed to book 2 twin rooms for one night. Okay, a slight mistake that was resolved.
ANyway, so we arrived and signed in, only to find that we had been overcharged (an extra £50 each!), the gentlemen on the desk was new and could do nothing about it, so since we were in a rush we left it to sort for the next morning,
Well, to summarise, when I asked about having the extra money refunded (We had paid the previous night) the answer was NO. And best of all, the man behind the desk told us to be GRATEFUL because we weren't charged the new years rates.Me and my friend were each £50 out of what we had budgeted for this month, I guess we should be happy?? Apparently the only way to resolve this was to send a letter to the (never present) manager. We asked if we could cancel the third night and have the money back that way, but again, not a chance.
For this, we had a broken radiator (which the cleaner had to turn on with a wrench! So the room was either freezing or sweltering), a tv remote that sometimes worked, and a light and shower that didn't work!
The breakfast is so basic, the only cooked thing is toast while sitting on plastic chairs, it almost felt like I was back in school.
And my personal favourite, on the sunday morning, we had to be out of our rooms by 7.30am. Before breakfast was even served.
