“UNIQUELY GREAT HOTEL”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

The staff here are THE BEST: always friendly, helpful and a great memory for faces. The design here has a timeless simplicity and the bar and restaurant are often 'banging', giving a feel you are in a place people want to be. The lobby computers are a great asset and the free light breakfast has REAL FRESH ORANGE JUICE which you do not get at Hiltons (OJ fans know the difference). As a veggie I like the simple macaroni cheese option for dinner and the breakfast is great; though I also recommend a short walk to ALBION for scrambled eggs. Even though we are over 50 we never feel the hotel is only for younger people. Great idea to have the fair-priced drinks at reception and you have a fridge and ice-room on floor 6 for your own arrangements (fresh milk is again not in all snobbier hotels). Great bus links; 55/243 nearby. We stay at least 6 times a year despite living under 40 miles away.

Room Tip: no bad rooms

“You wanna stay in the East end and u are not a banker? This is the place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012 via mobile

Great, cool good food, funny. Excellent idea to have a free breakfast in the room with yogurt, banana and oj. Coffe and tea in the room. Excellent as well of not being charged 20-25 £ for breakfast. Cool and warm diner like area for breakfast with great food. Service attentive and nice. Room nice and big enough. Great choice

“A value hotel in a convenient location”

An extremely good hotel to stay near to Old St tube station ( approx 500 metres ).
This was the second time we have stayed at the Hoxton.
There is no argument about your room as they are all the same layout, rooms are modern, pleasantly decorated and bright, even the ones which overlook other buildings. The shower is great, with two types of shower, a wand type and a large overhead shower.
Large fluffy towels and complimentry toiletries complete the picture.
There are facilities for tea/ coffee with fresh milk in the in-room fridge along with a safe.
Breakfast in a bag consists of a crunchy yoghurt, banana and a bottle of fresh orange although there is a restaurant on site if you require a more substantial breakfast.
The restaurant meal prices are reasonable for London and tasty.
The staff are polite, courteous and very willing to help with anything you ask of them. housekeeping is spotless.
There is a bar on site, sometimes a little noisy but not in the bedrooms
All in all for the price (£69 for double room ) an excellent place to stay and I would have no hesitation in returning

“Really high standards throughout”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

A girlfriend and I stayed one Sunday night...wandered around Spitalfields during the day...and then came back for dinner and cocktails. We checked in so smoothly and found the hotel's entrance/lobby/bar such a fantastic space. The ambience was felt throughout...from the 2 huge blazing fireplaces and lots of comfy, welcoming, trendy seating! On discovering our room we were very pleasantly surprised. Everything works, the simple but slick bathroom, the beds were really comfortable....and the room wasn't too tiny either. Fridge and safe really useful...the notice on the door re using the safe was excellent/witty and made us use the safe! Stayed at lots of hotels, but at 9am we found our Pret breakfast hanging outside...the child comes out in you..excited! The coffee bags in room were fresh and delicious. Fresh milk in fridge, perfect. We had dinner at the brasserie on Sunday evening and found the service and quality to be very above average, jerk chicken delicious. The waiters wore the full length pristine white aprons, very slick. The cocktail waitresses were a pleasure to watch, the cocktails are so professionally presented and mixed. We loved it, and want to return in the summer...it's a real treat to enjoy!

“Great place to stay”

Arrived at reception to be greeted by a girl with a big smile and very pleasent attitude. This carried on through out the whole hotel. The staff in all areas are very helpful and friendly and nothing is to much trouble. Every request was met with a smile and the task completed asap. The room, we had a twin, was a little on the small side, however it have everything we needed and was very nice to use. The bathroom was small but again well laid out and had a great shower. We ate in the Hoxton grill in the evening and can't get over how inexpensive it is for London. £13.50 for steak and chips, I pay more than that in my local pub and it's nowhere near as good. Breakfast is delivered to your room in a bag and is OJ, yogurt and a banana, comes in the room price. We ate in the grill again and a breakfast is only £10, (in London £10) fantastic.
It is a very well thought out building and beautifully appointed in all areas. I would recomend it to anyone who has to stay in the Shoreditch area
Thank you Hoxton for a great stay!
