“Perfect and my second time here”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

THis is the second time we've stayed here and it's been great both times. The staff really friendly and helpful. Room great for the amount of time we stayed. Clean and comfortable.
Breakfast is expensive but they usually offer a deal at check in so don't pay the full price when booking online. We have had breakfast here once but we usually go into the city and have brunch.

It's a perfect location for the tube and Earls court. It's also not far from some nice Pubs and restaurants. Bill Wymans sticky fingers which is great, booking advisable at the weekend. The Princess Victoria pub/restaurant is lovely and nice for a drink. I think we'll eat there next time.

All in all a great hotel.

Room Tip: Don't pre book breakfast as they offer a deal at check in.

“Convenient location and quite spacious rooms , in UK way , of course!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

I was staying in this hotel in July 2011 for a vacation break. The hotel is very-well located in terms of proximity to the tube (need not more then 10 minutes to get to thereon foot) and within walking distance from the Hyde Park. The NH network is generally very similar-looking across the world, so the interior of the hotel is calm and cosy. The staff at the front desk is very helpful, but sometimes wth not very good English which was surprising for me. They really helped when I had to leave the majority of my luggage in the storage room for several days as I was travelling to Edinburg, so they kept the luggage for free which was very pleasant. The room was not big, but if you are familiar generally with the size of average room in the hotel in London, this one would be very big) It was possible to accommodate 2 people and 2 huge suitcases lying open on the floor and you still are able to walk around. I did not eat at the hotel as there were many nice eating places around, so cannot say anything about the food quality. The price is within acceptable London ranges which are generally absolutely unacceptable, but given the proximity to the tube and spacious rooms this would be a good choice for the smart and particular traveller.

Room Tip: If possible don't agree to the rooms facing the street. It can get very noisy and the windows ar...

“Good Hotel in a Handy Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

Booked this hotel on Priceline at a very good price. Stayed 13 nights from 17-31 December. Only had a couple of issues. The TV was not in front of the bed but in the corner. We shifted the bed around ninety degrees. That sorted that out! The TV had 30 plus channels but seven of them weren't tuned in. We told reception about it but they said they'd have to get a service man onto the roof to adjust the dish or something. All very unconvincing and it was never fixed. Because of this I am going to mark them down.

Room Tip: Request a room facing the garden and you won't hear a sound.

“An Average Hotel....”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

My husband and I stayed at this hotel from Dec. 22 to Dec. 29, 2011. The room was quiet and very small but clean - never hesitate to stay here if cleanliness is important to you. Pictures of the room are attached to save me typing lengthy descriptions. There was only one tiny soap along with shampoo and conditioner provided. The staff at reception and breakfast room were wonderful and so was the breakfast. There was everything required for the full traditional British breakfast, as well as for a more European style breakfast. Also there was cereal, juice, and every type of bread known to man. There are all sorts of shops, restaurants and cafes on Earl's Court Road right around the corner from the hotel. There was also a supermarket on that road where we used to buy water, Coke, etc. instead of paying the high price for items from the mini bar.

The complaints we had were the following:

- the lack of ventilation
- the hair dryer was attached to the wall in the closet making it difficult to blow dry
- the mattress was hard and the pillows were too
- the lighting was poor

If we were only staying a night or two, we might go back, but not for a long term stay.

The location is very good, about a five minute walk from the Earl's Court Tube Station. You can take the Picadilly Line from Heathrow Airport to the Earl's Court Station, saving tons of money in cab fare. We bought a 7 Day, Zones 1-6 Travel Card from the VisitBritainShop.com before we went and used the Tube to go to many of the tourist attractions in London.

“Nice stay in a great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

Having lived in Kensington for several years we are quite familiar with the area. We were very happy to stay at the NH Kensington during our most recent visit. It is centrally located, very clean with an incredibly welcoming staff. The hotel is quite close to 3 Tube stations (no more than a 10 minute walk to each) and within easy walking distance to Hyde Park. London continues to be a frightfully expensive city so I can't call the NH Kensington a "value" hotel but it was a great place to stay for my family. We did not eat at the hotel as their are many great places to eat fairly close by.
