“Great Value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

After staying at a dreadful place two doors down the night before we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the Days Inn. Be aware this is not your typical Days Inn by the side of a highway in North America. The rooms are London sized meaning smaller rooms and much smaller bathrooms. But by comparison to every similar London hotel we have stayed at it seemed palatial.

Location is excellent as well we pulled our bags easily to and from Paddington it's 1.5 blocks from the station so no need for a cab. If taking the tube exit on Plead street.

“Great Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 February 2012

I arrived on the 30th January and stayed for five nights. I used to live in London so I knew the area very well. The hotel is situated just around the corner from paddington station making the connection to Heathrow Airport (via Heathrow Express) very easy. The firstroom I stayed in was on the bottom floor (room 107) was very small and there was a fire door between the bedroom and the bathroom. However it was clean and organized. I stayed in room 107 for the first night and then asked to be moved to a bigger room. The staff were more than willing to help and moved me to a much larger double room on the 1st floor- Room 119. I stayed in Room 119 for the rest of the stay. The breakfast was basic but very nice, cereal, eggs, toast, and tea/cofffee. I have to point out how helpful the staff were. If you are looking for a clean, accessible and reasonably price hotel, this is the one to go for! Would definitely stay there again!

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the higher floors. Much Bigger.

“Good value in London”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

I chose this hotel as it was reasonably priced, close to Paddington Station and offered free breakfast. It was a good decision, the location was great, staff was courteous, and the breakfast was more than adequate. The room was quite small and really didn't fit two beds and luggage well - and the bath was the tiniest I've ever come across - so much so that when I dropped my toothpaste, I had to open the door to have room to bend and retrieve it. But it was well appointed and very clean.

“Outstanding Value and Convenience...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

The Days Inn Hyde Park is a jewel of a hotel - one of many smaller, boutique hotels alongside each other in a row of converted townhomes along Suffolk Gardens - within easy walking distance of Paddington Station. Don't be put off by the fact that it's a Days Inn. This hotel is worlds away from what many Days Inns in the USA are like.

Check-in was handled efficiently by a very pleasant, helpful reception clerk who went out of his way to make sure that I knew I could call on reception staff at any time. My room - with 2 beds - was small and cozy, but not too small. Nicely furnished - single and double bed, ample workspace, small fridge, tea/coffee service, trouser press. The only issue - quite minor - is that the two beds take up much of the room space. Still, the room doesn't feel cramped, and it was very clean and in excellent repair.

Upon entering the room, there was a small foyer-type area with the closet. To the right was the bathroom; straight ahead was another door that led into the room itself ... an interesting layout, but it kept the loo and bedroom separate and, in the cold weather, allowed the room heat to focus on keeping the bedroom warm. The heat is centrally controlled, and the radiator has a valve that can be adjusted to control the temperature - when the heat is on. During the day, the room got a bit chilly, but when I mentioned this to reception, they immediately turned on the central heat to the room. In the evening, the room was warm and cozy.

There's an in-hotel bar open 24 hours, although I did not use it.

The neighborhood is safe and quiet. Paddington Station, with easy connections to Heathrow Airport and to the rest of London via the Tube and buses, is a 5 minute walk away. There are a number of restaurants nearby, including fast food and sit-down.

I was able to snag an excellent rate at the hotel brand website. AARP discounts are available and bookable via the web.

Overall - I was totally pleased by this hotel - particularly the value for price paid (GBP 54.00/night). I've stayed at the nearby Best Western Delmere hotel (one of the other hotels in the townhome row) and recommend it as well, but between the two hotels, this one wins out on overall value.

It's unfortunate that they branded themselves as a Days Inn, as the brand does not do justice to the quality and value of this hotel.

I'll be back.

“Friendly Staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2012

Very friendly staff, We stayed in a family room - 1 Dbl bed & 1 Single.
Very Clean room.
Also as we were near the reception so we picked up the free WI-FI.
Good location just 5 min walk to Paddington station.
Only downside was breakfast, not much variety would have been nice to have Bacon, Sos etc.

Would use this hotel again. Thanks.
Adam
