“Horrible stay”

Warning! If you want a horrible experience then stay at this crummy run down poorly managed hell hole! Stayed there over new years as my friends live in clapham. When we checked in we were greeted with the poorest reception. Hand in the face asking us not to speak. Indian owned and run it smelt like a curry house. Im not a racist but this was disgusting. THey did not speak english well and ignored many people who asked questions. We were not shown to our room and had to find it ourselves. (through 11 doors and crummy hallways dragging our luggage ourselves). Room HAD NO WI FI!!! None what so ever and when we asked reception we got a shrug of the shoulders and said that happens.... WE did pay for WI FI... TV reception was poor.. Hardly could see the TV because of the poor reception and static... Room was tiny...but semi clean.. hardest workers in that hotel were the cleaners... Management was beyond a joke and would highly reccommend anyone to stay clear from that establishment if u can call it that. Never written a review like this before but thought the poor poor disgusting customer service deserved it! Was a joke and will never be back to that hellhole!"

“The most terrible 'hotel' I have ever been to.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2012

The stay was simply dreadful. Upon arrival me and my girlfriend were allocated a single bedroom instead of a double for which we had paid. When we finally entered a second room (this time double) we only found out that the cupboards were broken, the heater had no adjustment so it was too hot at times, no hairdryer for my girlfriend, bad curtains, one window that wouldn't open out of the two, no toilet brush, and an unbelievably horrific bed, so uncomfortable due to the old mattress that we actually felt that we were sleeping on an iron fence.
In spite of the above, it was a terrible mistake from my part not to sacrifice another couple hundred pounds and stay at at least what can be called a 'decent' hotel.

“Cheap but not so cheerful, try not to stay here.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 December 2011

You do get what you pay for and this is relatively cheap by London standards but is poor. I wouldn't recommend staying here. If you need somewhere to stay nearby the Balham Lodge B&B is good, don't try the other Euro Hotel it's just as bad as this one we found out the hard way. A new Travel Lodge is opening in Balham, that should fill the budget accommodation requirements in the area in the future, shame it wasn't there when we needed it.

“You get what you pay for!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 December 2011 via mobile

Stayed here recently on a business trip. I booked a single room however when I arrived the bed seemed more like a 3/4 size which was good. The sheets and towels were clean and tidy, however the room itself was tiny. There was a wardrobe that prevented you turning in the room that's how tight it was. The bathroom was very worn out, the grout and tiling needed cleaning. The room and hallway was quiet during the night so I had a nice sleep. The breakfast was toast, cereal, tea, coffe and orange juice, which was fine.
Don't think I will stay here again, however the location is ideal for commuting in London, and there was plenty of free parking in the residential streets from 6pm to 8am, which again was ideal if you are on a business trip.
The area and town also has some good restaurants and bars.
Thanks

“Not as bad as I thought It could have been”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 November 2011

Booked via Late Rooms as two single rooms where really really cheap as we had to stay in the area for one night for business.
Parking is on the streets to the side of the Hotel, which is free from 6pm to 9am, should you arrive earlier, it will cost you £3 per hour to leave your car there.
The Euro Hotel has a sister hotel a block from the Hotel which is called the Euro Lodge, so you could be sent a block away and have a little walk with your suitcases, so bear that in mind. There were no lifts I could see and the hotel is a bit of a rabbit warren of stairs.
Our rooms were tiny but clean with all the basics including shower...very comfortable bed and I had a really good nights sleep. Breakfast IS basic with a choice of Rice Crispies, and toast to eat along with tea, coffee and juice. You do get what you pay for, but I think it could have been alot worse for the price we paid.
A very nice bar and restaurant down the road which was called the Rook I believe, great food and lovely wine and next door to that a little shop which was handy.

Room Tip: The room I had at the back of the Euro hotel was very quiet.
