This is a serviced apartment with single/double rooms with an attached shower/toilet room and a kitchnette. Minimum letting is 1 week.
Location
The location is excellent as the Victoria Station, Green Line bus terminal and Victoria Coach Station are all within walking distance.
Rooms
I booked a single room but as it was not yet available when I checked in, I was upgraded to a double room which had a double bed and a single bed. There was a big window facing the Eccleston Square and so I got a very green view. The room size was OK although the shower room was a bit tiny: I always hit the shower curtain when I had my shower. There were a microwave (not all rooms have a microwave in the kitchnette) and a cooking stove in the kitchnette. Towels were provided & rooms were cleaned during weekdays. I had a look at the studios and they were a bit small & basic but very clean. Given that the rent is 180 GBP per week for the studio & given the location, it is great value for money.
Staff
The lady who runs the House is very friendly.
Cons
The cons are that there is no elevator inside the building and you need to carry your luggage up the stairs. But you only need to do it once and coming down the stairs is no problem as you can pull your luggage down the stairs fairly easily.
The other drawback is that there is no phone inside the room although there is a payphone at the ground floor. So it's better that you have your own mobile.
General comment
If you look for a clean and convenient place at a very good price where you can cook your own meals, I highly recommend this place. There is nothing fancy in it but I enjoyed my stay thoroughly and I will definitely come back again.
Booking
Make sure that you book through the right place : I booked it through a serviced apartment agency and later I found out that they charged me 100GPB MORE per week!!! (So I was glad that I had the upgrade :-))You search for "Eccleston House" in google and it will show you the description and the e-mail address for booking.
