“If you get a good deal on this hotel ! Take it!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

Rooms are clean and fully equiped ! Bathrooms too! I got a brand new toilet seat fitted after my arrival !
Other good points:
I got daily 4 pieces of fruits and 2 bottles of water in my fridge which is superb!
I loved the breakfast ! You get a great variety of kellogs cornflakes, apple and orrange juice, cheese, butter, and strawberry jam, toasts,

and best of all a freshly made especially for you fried, scrambled, or boiled eggs. The breakfast is served in the hotel's hall which has fantastic ancient persian decorations and suitable for weddings or parties. You would enjoy breakfast thats for sure!

The breakfast is totally vegeterian and therefore would suite people looking for halal or kosher food.

All members of staff are extremly freindly and helpful. They are simply nice and kind. On the day of my departure i left my suitecase with them till 8pm with no extra charge.

3 negative points:
1) No lifts
2) There is an awful smell in the corridors. I think the corridors and stairs need re-furbishment
3) I stayed at a busy week and had to pay 85 pounds for a double room which i think is worth 70-75 pounds per night as a maximum

Therefore, my advice is if you get a good deal on this hotel take it ! All the best !

“The bad points outweigh the good”

Funny place poorly converted hostel type of a hotel. There is an unfortunate odour in the warren like corridors- didn't see a lift btw. The hotel is near Borough tube opposite South Bank Uni. My room was odour fee, clean with a fridge, free bottled warmer and fruit. Small bathroom again clean. Compact room so much that I literally had to move the bed to get to the wardrobe. Didn't stay to try the breakfast but a very nice receptionist gave me an umbrella to cope with the rain. Bit too low budget for me but will suit plenty. Please do something about that smell!

Me and my father arrived at this hotel to be told that because there were no twin rooms left, we would be given two separate rooms at no extra charge.

One room had a single bed and the other a double. The rooms were exceptionally clean and neat, and the bathroom was well equipped with shampoo/conditioner, and soap. The shower was a proper power-shower, which is usually hard to come by in a budget hotel.

There was an ample supply of tea and coffee in each room. As well as this the room fridge contained free fruit, which was a lovely touch. There were also bottles of water available in reception.

Breakfast was downstairs, where we were immediately offered eggs cooked to our liking, as well as tea, coffee, and toast. We were free to help ourselves to cereals and fruit juices.

The staff here were all so accommodating, and the location is so central (opposite South Bank University and a very short walk from London Bridge) that we've decided to return here when we next come to London. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for budget accommodation that is clean, friendly, and excellent value for money.
