“Great for the weekend”

We have stayed here a number of times now on our trips to the capital, New Year and summer breaks. We arrive at Euston so the MIC is really handy as it is only a couple of hundred yards for the station & you can leave your luggage if you are too early to book in. The rooms are not big, however, they are big enough, clean and serviced throughout your stay. The tube station is back at Euston, and you can catch the hop on / off tour bus, within .5 mile and it is about 1.5 miles of you want to walk to Leicester Square. The staff are always friendly and helpful, the breakfast is excellent and the restaurant is good especially if you do not want to venture out into town after a hard days sight seeing.

Room Tip: All the rooms are quiet even though you have students on the middle floor. We have never heard any n...

“MIC Hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

It was advertised as a luxury hotel. It's not. It's one of those hotels that are the coffee chains of the hotel industry. It was OK but I couldn't, in all honesty, recommend it.
Reception took 12 minutes even though the booking had been made in advance, all the information we gave was correct and we were the only people checking in at the time.
Problems with the room didn't get fixed as we were told that the repair people would not be back at the hotel until until 2300 (this was at 1400).
Safe was broken, only 2 sockets in the room (neither by the bed so not much use for overnight phone charging), only 4 TV channels (very poor reception) and 3 radio channels. No information in room about services. Radiator not bled so did not work properly and was noisy. No fridge. Sink partially blocked and the overflow couldn't cope. Shower badly designed so water leaked all over the floor. Wifi signal looked good but decided not to pay for it as I wasn't planning on doing much other than sleeping in the room.
Bed was a good size and comfortable but the pillows weren't.
Room was a good size and looked quite nice. Was clean.
Breakfast. Now this is worth mentioning. The staff who were there were excellent and the food was plentiful and varied. They even had soya milk! Cooked breakfast was good. Nice range of cereal and fruit. Yoghurt, toast and all that jazz. This was the best thing about the hotel.

Room Tip: We had rooms on opposite sides of the hotel and both were pretty much the same.

“Nice place poor service”

I booked on line only to be told they were full and I had cancelled my booking! They weren't full and I booked for one night instead of two. I complained only to be told they had offered me a room as soon as one had become available. They refused to let the director of the mic see my complaint. Lovely place otherwise

“Unorganised, ruined my weekend!!!!!!!! AVOID”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 December 2011

What a diaster! AVOID THIS HOTEL!!!!
On arriving I was given the keys to room 326...a double room. Three of us checked in with a booking confirmation for a deluxe triple room! The room was booked a month in advance DIRECT via the hotel, so the fault lies completely with the MIC for this. All the bedrooms were occupied so there was nothing the receptionist could do for us.There was no spare beds/single mattresses that we could have in the bedroom. We were offered a single bedroom as compensation, which was totally besides the point that three friends wanted to stay together in the same room on our lesisurely trip to London! We took the room regardless and were horrified to find it a student bedroom on the floor below! Of course none of us wanted to stay there when we had paid for a deluxe triple room!
Anyway, we didnt want to let this ruin our weekend so agreed to squash the three of us in one bed. However, following three separate showers we were horrified to find that the shower leaked and we had about an inch of water flooding the whole entire bathroom floor! We spent nearly 45 minutes cleaning the water up, which saturated four towels so we had to continually ring them out and then start again, we had to keep some towels for ourselves to dry too!
Overall I am so disappointed in what happened to us this weekend, we were treating ourselves to a nice break in london and had to deal with so much stress at your hotel. The receptionist who dealt with us the saturday evening was very rude (did not catch her name) as she tried to blame me for making an incorrect booking (not true as I have a confirmation for a deluxe triple) then she tried to blame who i booked the room through (MIC! Not an online intermediate!!!).
Basically I paid over the odds (£164.99) for a triple room and got a double room that apparently on the saturday night was around £145 a night! However as I booked in advance a double room I would have paid a lot less!

Room Tip: Basically you book a room and you dont get it!!! what else is there to say!!!!!!!
