I had to travel to London on business second week of January 2012 and needed to stay at a decent, reasonably priced hotel in a central location. Being a Holiday Inn Priority Club member, I first researched Holiday Inn locations in or close to Central London. I finally settled on the Holiday Inn Express, Swiss Cottage. I must say the hotel either met or exceeded my expectations. Location was great, just a couple of minutes easy walk across the road from the Finchley Road tube station, which made it very easy to get around town as well as to and from from Heathrow Airport. The area immediately surrounding the hotel has a few reasonably good eating options with an O2 Shopping Centre literally just across the road. A Sainsbury's is also just a little bit down the same road. The staff at the reception was always friendly and efficient. Upon my request they gave me a room at the back of the hotel, away from the main road. I had room 301 and this was a corner room and really nice since it was isolated at the end of a very short wing in which it was the only room - ie there were no other rooms next to it. That made it very quiet. The room was basic, as with any HI Express, but adequate and very clean. It had a tea/coffee maker so that was useful to brew my cuppa first thing in the morning. The reception staff was also very helpful with maps and directions to places I needed to get to, as well as providing me with laptop power adaptors in an emergency when I needed them late at night. Breakfast was limited but filling and with unlimited portions. i certainly could not complain. Overall, had a very pleaseant stay, great value for money and I would certainly recommend it unhesitatingly.
